    Secluded and quiet

We had had a blowout on our rv and needed to stay the night instead of finishing our travel they answered the phone on a Sunday which surprised me (I had call around) The lady at the desk was so helpful and informed us about discounts my husband was missing because of his service (National Guard Vet) which has been so greatly appreciated! The spot was unleveled but that’s no big deal if you have leveling blocks. Very beautiful and quiet when we visited in early August. The man in charge when we left was very helpful and mingled a moment with my husband before we headed home nice people and clean establishment definitely will be going back

    Nice Lake front Campround

This is a nice campground with decently wooded sites. The site I sated had water, electric, a picnic table, a fire pit and a lantern post. There was a flat spot to set up my tent. The campground had decent star views and was a short walk to clean pit toilets. The showers were a short drive away and were also clean.

    Nice Lake Front Campground

This is a nice campground on the shore of a small man made lake. The lake has a boat ramp and fishing pier. Some of the sites need minor repairs and the some disgusting person made a mess of the men's pit toilet but the a crew cleaned it in the morning.  The campground has decent views of the stars especially looking north. The site I chose was close to the lake and relatively level.

    Quite disappointed in this location.

The photos that you can find online for this RV park or misleading. When they say they have showers plural, restrooms plural, and laundry room When in reality they have one restroom which was filthy, one shower that was so dirty you could not stand in it. In one washer and dryer.

    Beautiful, but beware of animals

I’m an avid camper and hiker but when camping here alone at night (no one else was in the tent camping area), my camp site was accosted by a family of raccoons. They were not friendly and not scared of people at all. Be careful if you have young children. Aside from this, the lake was beautiful, peaceful and serene. Camp sites are unique and right on the water.

    What a great find!

Staff were amazing. So helpful and so friendly. The campground is a work in progress but they are doing a great job. The rv spots are shaded. Electric and water but no sewer if you’re close to the river which we were. The cabins are adorable and their general store was so cute! They have a community kitchen anyone can use! The river was low but very enjoyable. The only annoyance were the multitude of ATVs using the campground roads and the river bed instead of sticking to the ATV trails (and there are lots of them). Our particular neighbors didn’t acknowledge 11pm quiet time but everyone else did. Overall we will definitely be back soon!

    Great Camping Experience!

We stayed at spot 18, it was a quick walk to the lake and had the most beautiful wooded view from the campsite. The dump station has 2 spots and very easy to use. The public restrooms were clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. We highly recommend this campsite!

    Shady Lake RV Park

Only basic, very tight sites, pretty rough.

4 overnight sites are long enough but only 5-7 feet apart. FHU No picnic table, not very clean, small bathroom and showers. Mainly a permanent, rough rv village, nothing much to do at park. Overpriced at $40 per night. Noisy road nearby. Permanent residents have no respect for overnight site, they walk 2 feet from camper to a pond over and over. Last resort only if absolutely nothing else is available.

    Amazing area

Weekend getaway. Took a chance on this park #1 it was close and #2 they had a few RV sites available. We were not disappointed! Cannot say enough positives about this park. Absolutely beautiful. The hiking was gorgeous and amateur to moderate so I had no problem. The rocks, trees, trails are all beautiful. Could be a little better marked so be mindful but overall wonderful.

Our campsite was easy to access with a beautiful view of trees and the lake. Quiet and respectful campers. The grounds are maintained and the bathrooms clean. Plenty of things to do and see and only 20 minutes from Atoka if you need anything.

Check out the firewood supply on McGee Creek Rd coming in honor system at 10 logs for $5. And the DAM store staff were super nice and helpful. We will definitely be making this a routine go to.

    McGee Creek Natural Scenic Trails

This is my absolute favorite place to escape into nature! This is very secluded wilderness area with lots of trails. Upon arrival, you have to stop at the Ranger's Station to fill out a permit mapping your stay. There are a lot of trails, so you want to plan your trip as best you can beforehand.

The trails are so peaceful and secluded, I have been 3 times and have yet to see any other people there. I truly enjoy the Rocky Point trails, and am working my way up to some of the longer loops. I have only seen some wildlife there, but got the privilege to see a very large bird, that I'd have guessed was a vulture or hawk taking off from the ground!

I have stayed mostly at a camp about 2 miles in on the Little Bugaboo, Rocky Point & South Rim loop near the Whiskey Flats trail, although, you could really camp about anywhere if you're capable, there are a few other designated spots to camp.

This place is densely vegetated in some places, so I don't recommend shorts or sandals, and do recommend lots of bug spray and a big stick for clearing spider webs as you go!

    Overnight Stop

This park is close to highway and great for overnight stay. The park has pull through full site hookups. The park has a pond that is the center of the entire campground. The park has two dog parks available as well for those traveling with pets.

    Two things I loved:

    1. Close to highway quick stay
    2. The pond nice view with ducklings

One thing I didn’t love: Really close to others for extended stays.

    Small family friendly park

We’ve stayed here multiple times and always have fun. No sewer hookups but other than that it’s a clean decent facility. Good crappie fishing on the lake and nice cove to swim or kayak in. Clean campsites. Watch out for the water moccasins at night. Water front sites.

    Very versatile

I enjoyed the trails. I did go at a time where the leaves were on the ground so it was a tiny bit difficult to see the trail. Other than that it was a nice area. The maps for the trails were very accurate which I appreciate.

Seems to be the newer (or newly renovated unit) with a ton of camping options! Sits seemed close together but sections were really spread out! Enjoyed the inner-active trail and the fishing pier at the day use area! Really cool playground area bear the swimming area.

Very nice camp area @ Buster Campground

We stayed a couple of nights in our travel trailer at a spot in the Bust Campground. The campground we stayed in was very nice with easy access to the water. I could also tell that some camping spots were upgraded for ADA compliance, which looked spacious and neat. The lake is pretty small but there is nice for fishers and there is a swim area in walking distance from the campground. The restrooms and showers were also in walking distance. However, there was some trash and old tires by the lake behind our camp spot.

    Charming and we'll cared for

Bonham is a small but uncrowded park. Lovely and clean fresh water lake. Tent campsites are well sheltered by trees. Big grassy group campsite area that looked inviting. Lots of biking/hiking trails. Nature is always a blessing but the landscape here is just your average Texas.
