Pros: office lady very nice, site 1 has 1 tree for shade, ferry w/ our travel trailer from Galveston Island was easier than expected, large dog park, close to Camp Margaritaville.
Cons: gravel sites, bathroom super gross with no TP, dirt rv road kicks up lots of dust, right on noisy highway.
Stayed on the beachside & loved it. Concrete pads, clean shower house, picnic table under gazebo, leashed dog allowed on beach, close to boardwalk for beach access.
Great park if you want to get outside, but still want access to civilization.
Park is somewhat of a mix between wetland and forest. While this is an awesome ecosystem with lots to see and explore - take bug spray! Especially if going in May - when the Horseflies are out. We made the mistake of forgoing the Off and got eaten alive. This is our fault, and not the parks, though.
The park is conveniently located just outside of Beaumont. In fact, you may feel like you haven’t left the city until you are there. This can be helpful if you want to grab a bite and not cook, or if you run short of supplies. I would recommend this park especially for someone new to camping.
Great stop along our way. Nice staff. Clean bathrooms. Good hiking and biking trails. Campspots are well wooded. A little wet this time of year but to be expected.
It sounds like you had a memorable experience during your stay! Friendly staff, clean facilities, and great beach walks definitely contribute to a positive impression. It's wise to prefer the bay side sites for a quieter atmosphere and fewer crowds. Watching interesting birds adds to the charm, but it's essential to stay cautious of snakes, as you mentioned encountering a rattler. Very nice lady called prior to our arrival to ask if she could charge our card so she could prepare the packet. When we arrived it was all ready and maybe took 5 minutes. Didn’t use baths or laundry. Park was clean, plenty of length for our 42’ 5th wheel and truck. Hookups were in good spots. The sites are very narrow and pretty close to fellow campers but it was all good.
This RV park resides in the middle of industrial businesses. Not many know it is there. The area around is not the greatest, but you cannot beat the prices. Have stayed over a year and a half.
Easy set up. Friendly host. No facilities but all hook ups. Close quarters on rigs. On the water so it’s all good regardless. A little messy. Needs some repairs on utilities. But. On the water.
It is a good place to spend 3 nights, unless it thunderstorms. Flash flooding occurs.
We went there for the first time and were amazed to discover such an awesome place, only 20 minutes from our new home in Houston.
The staff was great and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. They have an indoor and an outdoor hot tub that overlooks the lake.
We had so much fun.
It was surprisingly affordable as well.
We will definitely return.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for an awesome resort close to Houston.
We stayed here almost 10 days. Did some jockeying around because we didn’t have reservations. Friendly staff, clean facilities, great beach walks, large sites. We prefer the bay side sites—quieter and fewer people. Lots of interesting birds to see, and watch out for snakes! We saw a big rattler on the boardwalk but we gave it space and it moved off right away. I would recommend a reservation to save hassles as this place fills up on the weekends.
Free camping, just send a picture of your 🆔. Plenty of room, no sites just pop your tent wherever. No electric or hookups. They do have a restroom with flush toilets. Don't forget the "OFF" tons of mosquitoes. Overall a nice place.
This place is a true coastal gem! Nestled along the Gulf of Mexico, it offers a fnf perfect blend of natural beauty and outdoor recreation.
This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard from an RV park…no school-age children allowed on the property! I didn’t stay there with my family and I won’t stay there.
Stayed one night and was pleasantly surprised with what the park had to offer. Great views of the water a short walk from my stall, fully renovated and clean bathrooms and decent separation between the sites. My site backed onto the highway but wasn’t very loud. I’d stay here again for the affordable price of $26
Right off I-10. Roads inside park are large enough to all rig sizes. Our site had dog poop over it when we arrived so they do not check the sites before you arrive. The pad is buried into the ground which cause hills into the grass. A great way to break an ankle. It also caused a hill for the sewer hose to run uphill. Tire ruts along the pads have not been filled in.
Camp Mohawk is a great get away close to home for many of us. The staff is very
helpful and and kind. They have cabins, dorms, tent camping, hiking trails, stocked
ponds for fishing, playgrounds, volleyball, basketball courts, pavilions for rent with
bar b q grills, plenty of picnic tables throughout the park for convenience of park goers.
Pet friendly with waste stations around for disposal of their waste. Free for day use
To make reservations call 281-756-2319 you and the whole family will have alot
of fun and won't regret it!!!
Starting to get busy, probably the best time of year - before it warms up and the bugs return. Short walk to beach, close to town if you need anything. Did not use facilities so no comment other than great 50 amp and good water.
Only negative is dump station is a challenge if using tote (no ramp, gotta haul up curb). Campground facilities says there is sewer hookup. There is not ( other than for hosts)
My husband and I came to the Houston rodeo and stayed here strictly for proximity to the stadium. The RV park did have a shuttle which was very nice to get us to and from. Most sites are large enough for big rigs, you do have to park on the gravel right in front of your rig which can be tight. Nice concrete pads at each site. Traffic can be loud and there are many full-time set ups here with permanent residents. Has a gate with a code so it did feel safe at night. Small dog park that could use some extra TLC. Laundry on premises, no play ground, good wifi and Verizon service.
Wow! So I had no idea this place was camper friendly. This place is awesome! If the public head wasn't in such rough shape, I would give this place 5 stars! I absolutely love the history of the area and think the area should be very proud of the display here!

This RV park is cute and quiet. The RV sites are pretty close together but the lake view is very nice. Clean & private bathrooms and laundry machines. They have hookups & Wi-Fi They are pet friendly There is not a lot of space or privacy between sites Pretty lake view
Easy to get to, we were the only camper here. Some fishermen down on the water during the day but we were the only campers. Our 42’ 5th wheel fit nicely on the gravel patch by the cement picnic table. Only rules are to register (info on the sign, free but you have to call the number) and don’t park on the grass (there were some day use people parked on the grass but they want campers on the gravel) - can’t beat it for free.
Great, roomy site, full hookups, showers, laundry, dog park, pavilion, and more. Easy access to the beach.
Doing a bit of primitive camping. The sites are top notch. Away from any automobile noise. Porta Johns in the parking lot. Showers are a short bike ride away.
Nice place. Staff is nice and helpful. Spaces are tight but we fit our 40 ft Allegro Bus with tow.
Great place other than the mosquitoes Lucky it was windy when we arrived but left the next morning
I’m from CA and I’m used to camping out in the woods so I was a little scared of what to expect when I was driving through the quaint town, but to my surprise the campgrounds were really nice. The owner and the grounds manager were very friendly and helpful. They supplied us with lots of wood and even started the fire for us. We got to choose a site right by the water. The views were magnificent! Very quiet and clean property. You can fish on the lake, hike through the land or just relax and enjoy the serenity. The bathroom was really clean and warm which was a super plus being that it was as cold as 33 degrees outside when we stayed. It was my partner’s first time camping she loved it. We already have plans to go back. I highly recommend this place!!!
