Decent Spot on the water

Good little park off the beaten path. You can camp with water views. Flush toilets with running water, but those mosquitoes will eat you alive.

Very nice family friendly camping spot with a killer view

Wow! So I had no idea this place was camper friendly. This place is awesome! If the public head wasn't in such rough shape, I would give this place 5 stars! I absolutely love the history of the area and think the area should be very proud of the display here!

Plenty of space, power and a fishing pier

We couldn’t figure out the permit everyone talks about. Tried calling and emailing.

Anyway pulled in for the night, seems like a decent safe spot. Plenty of other campers. Power outlets everywhere.

Gorgeous bayside boondocking!

Free camping on beautiful Trinity Bay. You must be self-sufficient and park on the gravel. We stayed three nights. The bay is teeming with fish and beautiful birds. Locals fish here, so some traffic at night. Groceries and pizza place nearby. Contact for a permit: bnhutchins@chamberstx.gov.

Baseball and Apple pie

FREE

Limit: 3 days

This is a Chambers County park and one of several and I hope you take the opportunity to enjoy their many outdoor pursuits. This park has a beautiful open expansive green space. Ball fields, play ground, nature trails, boat ramp, fishing pier, fish cleaning station and even fishing from the bank. To camp you must be fully self contained, there are no hookups. You may see power in the park but that is for use at festivals, etc. Not for campers. Obtain a camping permit from the Commissioner Office. Park only on gravel areas, not on the grass, and no open fires. Call 409-267-2409 for information. Check out the Historical plaques. Fort Anahuac Park has connections to The Alamo.

Stormy Night in a Historical Park!

Arrived here just before a big thunderstorm rolled in.

But it was super cool to watch as the lights of Houston illuminated the sky across the bay.

Can camp for up to 3 nights maximum with $10 permit from the courthouse down the street.

No utilities, but large open camping area near fishing pier.

Cool Texas history here too!

LOTS of gators...

We love the trails and rugged wildlife of the park... Watch out for the gators and put your food up or it will be gone. This is a good place for wildlife and a peaceful stay...
