Good stop in emergency

We pulled in to the Wild West RV park because we needed repairs on our tow vehicle and it was Sunday. It is easy access off I-10. Pull through sites. 30/50 amp, water and sewer. Sites are level. There are 2 lots across from one another. There is no shade and lots of dust. They are located between I-10 and the railroad, so it is NOT quite. Bathrooms and showers were better than many. Good water pressure in shower. They do have a dog park of sorts.

Small Park Near Hwy 10

Wild West RV Park in Van Horn, Texas is a small park close to Highway 10. It’s fine for an overnight or two, but probably not much longer. It is mostly dirt with a little gravel and very dusty. The sites are long enough for big rigs and they have 50 amp FHU which is great. There are not amenities to speak of except for laundry and restrooms. The main reason we wouldn’t stay here again is because of all of the spars (sharp spiny burs) all over the ground which has made this a difficult place for our dogs, not to mention painful.

Nice, local RV park

This isn’t really a fancy RV park, but it’s conveniently located just off I-10 on the main road through town. The staff are friendly, the restrooms/showers/laundry clean, easy pull-through spots with full hookups, and reasonable rates.

I found this place last year while passing through west Texas so when I found myself passing through again this year from Abilene to the Deming area with almost three weeks to kill before reaching my destination it was an easy choice to stop here. I decided to stay for a full week this time ($170 with full hookups). Once again I am not disappointed. It adequately meets my needs at a fair price.

There is a bit of traffic noise, but usually not bad. There is definitely train noise, and they do pass through multiple times per day, but the key for me is they pass through at speed. They’re not stopping in town.

I have 3 out of 4 bars of Verizon signal at the RV park. Voice and data is strong and consistent. The RV park wifi is surprisingly good and I have had no issues working while staying here.

All in all a decent stop and I would not hesitate to stay here again during another trip through this area.

Low cost alternative for a over night stop

Typical low cost, close to the interstate RV park. Nothing fancy here. Many long pull through sites with level gravel sites. Very nice bathrooms, showers and laundry room. Employee was super friendly and courteous! Park lies between Interstate 10 and the railroad tracks so it is not a quite place. If you need an overnight stay like us.... the price is right. $26.00/ full hook ups with Good Sam discount.
