    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Natchez Trace Wrangler Camp in Natchez Trace State Park accommodates horses and riders with electric hookups and water connections at campsites. The primitive sites include picnic tables, toilet facilities, and space for both tents and RVs. While the campground does not feature dedicated horse corrals, campers can set up portable pens or use highlines for their horses. The grounds maintain relatively level terrain for trailer parking. Roads throughout the campground provide adequate clearance for horse trailers, though some areas require careful navigation during wet conditions.

The campground connects directly to the park's extensive bridle trail system, allowing riders immediate access to woodland paths without trailering. Natchez Trace State Park encompasses over 48,000 acres with multiple lakes and designated horse trails winding through hardwood forests. Water access points for horses exist along several trail sections. The terrain varies from gentle slopes to moderately challenging hills, making it suitable for most riding experience levels. Most trails remain open year-round, though seasonal closures may occur during extreme weather conditions. Trail markers clearly indicate horse-permitted routes, and riders should carry park maps as cell service remains limited throughout most riding areas.

      Lots of options

I love Loretta Lynn's! Lots of options for all types of camping. They have equestrian spots, RV spots, tent spots, and cabins for rent. Plus so much to do on the property! Can get busy on holiday weekends when the weather is nice or if they are doing any events there! Otherwise you can easily find a spot here!

Natchez Trace Wrangler Camp — Natchez Trace State Park

      Quiet time !!

We were just passing through and picked this park to stay the night in our 21 ft trailer. Wow! Super quiet, dark and cool the first week of October. (See photo) We stayed in the Wrangler site, which is typically for horses. (ATV’s not allowed) Trees haven’t changed yet. Would definitely come again.

Pin Oak Campground — Natchez Trace State Park

      Nice Place

We usually use Pin Oak CG at Natchez Trace State Park when we are traveling through Tennessee.  Many nice sites, and a few that aren't as nice.  But well worth stopping and enjoying the lake and peacefulness.  Our first time there was in 2014 and that is when I took the photos.

Natchez Trace Wrangler Camp — Natchez Trace State Park

Great place to relax & enjoy nature

There are 3 different campgrounds in thos very large state park. Cub Lake is for tents or small campers with water & electric hookups. The Wrangler Camp is for horse riders with water & electric hookups. The Pin Oak Campground is for RVs. Every site has full hookups. Two nice bath houses, a pavilion, playground, beach area, and boat dock. It is very open with several trees, but not not a lot of shade. The pictures in this review are only from Pin Oak Campground.

Pin Oak Campground — Natchez Trace State Park

      Great Campground with full hookups

Pin Oak Lake Campground is very nice. Well maintained with full hookups and plenty of space separating the sites. The lake itself is very clear water. Easy to access the park from I-40 but it is a bit of a drive from the exit. All good roads and location makes the campground quiet. Plenty of activities in the park and close to some Civil war battlefields. Our 38’ RV was easy to park on the generous pad. Take plenty of food as a trip to the store is a bit of a drive.

Natchez Trace Wrangler Camp — Natchez Trace State Park

      Big, clean. Plenty of room.

There is not a bad site at Pin Oak Campground in NTSP. Situated on a lake with a dock available. Good fishing, swimming.

Mall sites are large and level and not crowded at all. Our favorite getaway close to home.

      Thousand Trails Natchez Trace

      Older campgrounds

It’s a large campground with a lot of full time campers on site. Nice lake at 102 sq acres in size. Did have an issue that most sites are only 50 or 30amp hookups only, so I had to borrow a 30 to 120 adapter. The hiking trails were closed which sucked since I was looking forward to a hike with the dog. They are building a new pool. Good luck getting a lakeside site since I was told only 8 are available and are full most of the time.

      TMMR 2022

Area is beautiful but sites were close together and the ground outside of my trailer was very unusable, all hill and large rocks. No way to spend time outside of the camper. After I leveled it the bottom of the front steps had a 2 foot drop and the rear were on the ground. The slope made the sewage hook up a nightmare. Verizon had spotty signal at best. My buddy and i tried to reserve a spots based off of a campsite map prior to going but when I showed we were put in different spots. Apparently the drive way for the cabin was also a spot and thew off the maps numbering... they only refunded us 1 "pick your spot price" since we were close enough. The area has great potential but just needs TLC and effort. Never checked out the showers and such but the store was nice and staff was friendly. I will say TMMR was a blast and I'll be back but for the money spent on a campsite, a 40ft toyhauler shouldn't have to be rigged into a site at a rally.

    Guide to Waynesboro

Natchez Trace Wrangler Camp in Natchez Trace State Park accommodates horses with electric hookups, water access, and toilet facilities. The campground provides designated areas for horses with trailer parking and direct access to bridle trails within the larger park system. Sites are designed for both tents and RVs, with picnic tables at each spot. The primitive setup focuses on the essentials for equestrian camping rather than luxury amenities, as the campground lacks showers and sewer hookups. Many riders appreciate the spacious layout that allows for comfortable movement between horse areas and campsites.

The bridle trails connecting to Natchez Trace Wrangler Camp wind through the diverse terrain of Natchez Trace State Park, offering varied riding experiences from wooded paths to open areas. Trailhead access begins directly from the campground, eliminating the need to trailer horses to riding locations. The campground maintains a reservation system for securing spots during peak riding seasons. While cell service is limited throughout much of the park area, the campground's location provides a true disconnect for trail riders seeking a natural experience. The roads leading to the equestrian sites can be challenging with larger rigs, so arriving during daylight hours is advisable for first-time visitors.
