This small park is located across the street from an exhibition coal mine, portal 31. It is in the former train depots former switch yard. Small, with electric hookups and a communal water spout.

If you want to see the history of coal production in southeast Kentucky, this is the place. If you…

Natural Tunnel

Had a great weekend at Natural Tunnel State Park. This campground stays booked up but was able to get in on a cancellation for the upcoming weekend. Just happened to be the one day a year the tunnel is open to walk through (it’s an active railroad and closed otherwise).

Great Place Next to the River

Great place, love the river. Fireflies every night and within walking/biking distance of a great little town with a coffee shop, brewery, and a few restaurants.

Great Rustic Campground

Nice spacious sites that are mostly level. Be sure to fill water tank before arrival as there are very few sites with water. All RV sites have electric. 50amp is available on select sites. Narrow paved lanes through campground, however didn't have an issue with our 38' fifth wheel and crew cab…

Peaceful and relaxing

Very clean and well maintained. Locating directly in the river makes it a very serene atmosphere. We enjoyed fishing and kayaking during our stay.

Gorgeous scenery close to downtown

We stayed here 3 nights and enjoyed so much! Be sure to check out the hot springs mineral bath and the roaring river you can float in! Loved riding our bikes downtown to explore! About 5 miles away in Asheville there is a great coffee shop. Also a place to park and walk to explore more of the…

Lush landscape

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. There is lots of lush foliage and streams. The facilities are usually clean and they offer several activities throughout the week. Friendly staff too.

Lovely creekside trail

Sites are medium close - I can just hear the AC of the site beside me. Mostly good shade. Good restroom/shower. Mostly quiet. I would stay again.

Loud party

The campground was very close with people playing music every night until 1 am and it started about 7 am. People partying all night and loud. I turned my air to 60 so it would run and drown out the noise.

We stayed here overnight just as a stopping point on our trip, but we were pleasantly surprised! Nice pool, very clean park, lots of things for the kids. They have activities on the weekends. We stayed in a pull through site and it was not very level (we had planned to not even unhook from the…

Nice campground ( as long as you don’t need tv or much mobile)

Definitely needed WeBoost to make data functional. Verizon worked best of my carriers. Visible had zut coverage. ATT and Cricket were usable with WeBoost. Stayed on B-loop - really steep road. Limited TV coverage. Lovely foresty sites, pretty level. Elec & water. Bathroom excellent, very clean.…
