Sand Creek Recreation Area sits along the Missouri River in Niobrara, South Dakota, managed by SD State Parks and Recreation as part of the larger Sand Creek Recreation Area. The campground has eight sites, no electrical hookups, and two water spigots. Sites 2 and 3 have shade; the remaining six are in direct sunlight. This is an active boat launch area, so expect boat traffic during the day. Toilets are vault-style and reported clean. Anglers and eagle watchers have both noted the river access as a draw.
