A nice dependable campsite for a stopping point

Stayed here as an overnight stop and it was perfect for what I needed! The tent camping loop is a road through a large field with some picnic tables and trees. You can pull off and pitch your tent anywhere you like. The grass was very plush and I slept very well.

For a tent site, it was $12 cash in the drop box because I got there after hours (not sure if they accept card during office hours).

Clean and Easy

The campground area is a nice facility in general, but I stayed in the tent area. It cost me $12 for a single night and you can park and pitch your tent anywhere within the area. I believe there is electric in a select few spots, but I didn’t look for it since I didn’t need it.

Overall, there are plenty of trees and shade spots to camp in. They have alot of fire pits, as well as picnic tables. I got here at 3pm on Sunday and the park is so large that I didn’t have any problems getting a spot. It is 5 hours later and only a handful more people have come through.

The bathroom facilities are decent, not clean, but I’d say par for what you’d expect at a campground. A nice note was that the Sheriff drives through, which provides a nice sense of comfort.

Convenient for Exploring Bismarck

This affordable park was just south of Bismarck, had good cell service, and was also a short walk to the Missouri River.

There was a playground, disc golf course, boat launch, and other amenities in the park.

Open tent area only had four other campers there during my stay!

Great spot !

This is a great spot! They always have tent sites available (no electric) for $12. This was our last night of a very long trip, and were very pleased to find a spot on Labor Day weekend. Clean showers and bathrooms also!

Good car camping

Great spot for stopping on a long drive. Plenty of car/tent camping spots that don’t need or take reservations. Just pull into a grassy area by a firepit and picnic table and you’re good to go!

Great stop between MT and WI

A little south of Bismarck, this relaxed, beautiful campground is part of a larger park and has large shade trees and well spaced sites. Non-electric sites are only $12! Great spot! We stayed in the tent area with a teardrop trailer.

It’s Fall in ND!

Perfect fall getaway! We stayed on a Sunday to Monday, prior to a college visit with our son. No crowd, and had the campground and fall leaves all to ourselves. Sites are for the most part a nice distance from each other and many have asphalt pads. Bathrooms were clean and suitable.

Great campground!

We stayed at General Sibley campground on our family vacation in 2018. Large campground & we were pretty much in our own area. Frisbee golf course & playground. Nice first stop on our journey!

Great campground!

This campground was a great stopping place on our way West! We stayed on a weekday and we practically had the place to ourselves. We tented which has its own area. There were pit toilets near our site and they were very clean and well maintained. The sites were spacious, grassy and shaded by big cottonwood trees. We definitely recommend this beautiful park!

Close but far enough out

This campground is super close to Bismarck but far enough south of town to feel like you are in the middle of the woods. The sites are all spacious and all have small to large areas of grass. The pads are level. Very nicely kept campground

Cheap, Sprawling Campground Outside Bismark

Sprawling, well-appointed campground on the outskirts of Bismarck, run by the park and rec district. Lightly forested with large campsites for tents and RVs. The park has showers, bathrooms, an amphitheater, disc golf, a playground, and a group area. It is very popular with locals. It is also incredibly cheap and was an easy stop-over campground.

We visited the Natural History Museum at the capitol which was free and nearby, and had lots of fun dinosaur bones and displays.

Basic Campground Near Bismarck

We were passing through on our way between Minnesota and Glacier and needed a place to stay. Pulled in at 8pm in the summer and there were lots of places open. The tent side ($12/night) is one large green grassy area with tables here and there with nice tall trees. There's a gross pit toilet on the tent side, or if you walk on a pathway just a little bit you'll make it to the nicer bathroom on the RV side that has showers and flush toilets. Nice playground. Lots of bees.
