Make sure your dogs breed is allowed

Our week long trip was cut short when staff decided to call law enforcement instead of us when our (non aggressive) dog accidentally got loose. After being there for 3 days they then tell us our bully breed dogs are not allowed and we had to leave with no refund for our last night. Also pretty sure our camp neighbors stay up smoking meth all night. So meth is allowed but pit bulls are not. Severely disappointed with how we were treated. Will not be back

Great location and view

Almost all the sites are lake front. Great family environment and the staff working there are very friendly. The lake is a good size lake and you can see for miles across. This will be a regular camp grounds for our family.

Great experience

We loved Hesters Bottoms! They just opened this year but have made an awesome camper experience from an old Corp of engineer site. The campsites are all a good size and not right next to each other. A lot are tucked away off the road a little and most are right on the water. They appear mostly level on the site but some have a little bit of a hill getting down to the site. They have about 5 loops with sites off of them and this keeps traffic down and spreads things out a bit. There is a bathhouse on each loop. We stayed on a buddy site with friends and it was so nice. Very spacious and we could barely see our neighbors. Water and electric sites. Dump station at the exit and it was off the road with plenty of room. Picnic table and fire pit on each site. The WiFi was great. And we had TV reception as well. The bathhouse was very clean and water pressure was good. Would recommend and will definitely be visiting again!
