Welcome to Jonestown/Hershey KOA, a year-round campground nestled near Jonestown, PA. This spot is a solid choice for campers looking for a mix of convenience and natural beauty. The campground is right next to the expansive 3,750-acre Swatara State Park, making it perfect for hiking and biking enthusiasts. The Swatara Rail Trail is a highlight, offering great opportunities for biking and connecting with nature.

The campground itself has a variety of accommodations, including tent sites, RV spots, and cabins. It's got all the essentials: drinking water, electric and sewer hookups, showers, and toilets. Nice all season koa w stateland trails!

Nice all year round campground located right next to 3750 acre Satawara State Lands connected trails is perfect for biking or hiking. Stayed 8days in early December. Friendly staff, onsite restaurant w delivery to site, December had 25% off coupon too! WiFi and cellular were almost unusable but a nice place for a reasonable price! 4 stars because of poor wifi and cell coverage

Used to be our favorite/under new management

We’ve been going here for 3+ years and until recently was our favorite park. They sold the park to new management and there appears to be a lack of detail and effort. They no longer clean the fire pits after each guest so I’ve had to pick cigarette butts, excessive ash, and plastics out. They no longer have a liquor license. The store hours are erratic, so good luck getting breakfast in the morning if you are trying to keep your kitchen clean on the departure day. It also doesn’t open on time. I will say that the employees are still abundantly friendly and polite.

Beautiful Park

This camp boasts a stream and beautiful city bridge for water play in the summer and photography in the cooler months. Grounds, bathrooms, showers, playgrounds, dog park, everything. This park is wonderful!

Last choice for RV park near Hershey.

I know many other reviews are glowing.  Not our experience.  At all.  We've stayed here before.  Only stayed here this time because EVERYTHING else was booked.  We had a reservation booked MONTHS in advance, yet when we arrived at 6:00 in the evening the previous nights resident was still in the site assigned to us slurping beer.  No intention of moving.  Manager forgot to make him move.  I ended waiting 2 hours for him to pack up and move out so I got to back in and set up in the dark.  Absentee owners were of no help.  Best that they remain absentee because they present themselves as lowlife.  Male owner, a large hulking guy charged at me in a threatening manner suggesting I do something to myself that would get this review bounced.  But it starts with F, ends with K, and has u and c in the middle.  Lowlife.  This is the best that KOA can do?

The property is very dated and I can not see any expenditures or improvements in the last 10 years.  The property sits in the V of two highways so there us always heavy traffic noise.  Army helicopters from Indiantown Gap training overhead all day till 11:00 or later.

Worker kids have no incentive to perform, manager seems to have better things to do.  Do yourself a favor.  The other parks in the area are much nicer, the owners are better, nicer people.  Go there, not here.

Super tight but not all spaces

It rained the whole weekend but we made the most of it. The pull through sites are nice and long, but we were put in a buddy spot and didn’t know. We were happy we made friends with our neighbors, but I’d check that first. The spaces on the creek are nice and shady. We will stay there next time. The camp workers at the store were SUPER nice!! The frozen adult drinks there were amazing because it was really hot this weekend. We will definitely return!

Small but great

Love this place. Staff is helpful and friendly. They nice level sites with great atmosphere. Campground is connected to the Swatara Rail trial which is great for biking. The Swatara creek runs right next to it so it is great for kayaking, tubing, etc. Highly recommend.

KOA Jonestown

Nice older KOA campground. DOES NOT have dispersed camping. Connects to Swatara State Park via Appalachian Trail. Has playground, creek, pocket park, miniature golf, bike and canoe rentals and a splash pad. Nice 'General Store' and Snack Shack offering sandwiches, finger foods and ice cream

Decent site, but the people...

The site itself was great. $40 for a nonelectric, no water site is not great but alright. The fire pits don't have grills at these sites though so be aware. The river right next to the site is really nice and pretty. About ankle deep and perfect. Bathrooms were very clean as well, though kind of far from these sites. However, the people staying at the campground, particularly those long-time campers are quite rude. One rv right by us was blasting music until 2am, and no staff were around to do anything about it. Also, beware of ticks.

Right off the highway

We stopped here just for the night. Love the close proximity to the highway and gas. We didn’t eat there but they had a restaurant! Lots of activities for the kids. Wooded sites and very clean bathrooms.

Beautiful and clean

Decent spaces between sites, with a smaller section for tents than RVs. Tent sites also have raised pads/beds for the tents to be set up and have options near the creek for both tents and RVs. I was impressed by how clean the bathrooms were kept in addition to the grounds. There’s a fenced not in area for dogs and a mini golf course, but it’s more for younger children. We were able to purchase Hershey Park tickets which were cheaper than buying from the Hershey (at a discount) and it includes shuttle service to and from the park!  The staff were friendly and welcoming and it was an overall wonderful experience.

Best campground pet friendly

staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Pet friendly and you can access the Appalachian trail from campground. Lots of great food and places to go in the area. They have a river that is great for kayaking or tubing. They host events for the whole family. Near state parks and wonderful lakes and spots to fish. Right off the interstate but you feel like you are miles away from civilization. The showers and restrooms are clean. You can also sign up for day trips in the office, Hershey Park and kayaking. I highly recommend this campground. They also have a store that carries a ton of camping needs, food and almost everything you need. I have camped there multiple times and recommend it to my neighbors who also loved this campground.

Small but nice

This campground is kind of small, but it is laid out in such a way that it doesn't feel small. We had a creek site, which is neat because it was parallel to the creek, with the creek being on the awning side of the RV. Kayak and canoe rentals are available, but we had our own so did not use. Nicely stocked store and take out counter. Friendly staff, clean grounds, pretty many amenities. No pool but there i a splash park. East access from I 81 so a lot of overnighters stop here. Nice dog park.
