Cross-country skiers and mountain bikers share this sno-park trailhead in Deschutes National Forest, with the two seasons defining its character. The site is a paved parking area with a pit toilet and no water. No water on site. Winter campers should note that overnight stays interfere with snowplow operations, making it unsuitable for cold-weather camping. Summer use as a bike trailhead is more practical. Kapka Butte Sno Park and Meissner Sno-Park/Trailhead are nearby alternatives with better infrastructure for winter overnight use. Highway proximity also means road noise is a factor.
Description
This busy sno-park/trailhead is used to access non-motorized winter trails, as well as summer hiking/biking trails. There are toilets in the site and a warming hut available to winter users.
