Perfect overnight spot

Stoped here for a night on a roadtrip and it was perfect overnight stay not too far from the highway. It’s tucked away in a neighborhood but does the job! Bathrooms, playground, gazebo, etc, it’s supplied with a lot of things to make your life easier. Neighbors are close for many campsites, so it’s not a secluded camping experience, but that’s to be expected. I will say that the river access is limited if you’re not staying directly on the river. I was in one of the center campsites and set up a chair at the access point and shared it with 10 other people. It’s a small portion so we were close. But again, too be expected during the summer months and for a campsite like this.

Rivers bend

I love it at rivers bend, peaceful and beautiful. The trees, the mountains and the Santiam river just breath taking. 1

Waterloo campground

I really enjoyed camping at Waterloo. They have trails to and the Santiam river to fish. And close enough to town in ase you forgot something

County Park that is surprising

Driving through the small town to get here, we were a little concerned as to what we would find. But it’s actually a very nice spot along the river and below the large trees. Spots have water but no electricity, and it has full bathrooms and showers. We spent one night.

Nice little spot

This campground is on the north Santiam river just outside the town of Lyons Oregon.

38 sites, some with water.

There are some sites right on the river but they lack any privacy.

There is also a few sites near a pond that has ducks and a river otter occupying it.

Decent restrooms with flush toilets and 3 shower stalls.

It is also close to town if you need food etc.

Green, tighter, flow-ey

The trees are large and happily individualist here at John Neal Memorial Park, and the views from the river bank are fun and a tad take-your-breath-away-ish. This is definitely a family site, and not all that roomy, but the whole vibe is quaint and small-towny. Driving through Lyons is cool and there's enough separation between the town and campsite as to be cozy but not nosey. Just far enough from Salem too.
