Elkhorn Valley Recreation Site - CLOSED DUE TO WILDFIRES

Currently closed due to wildfire damage, this Bureau of Land Management campground operated as a dry camping facility with sites priced at $14 per night, or $7 for seniors with America the Beautiful passes. The recreation site featured centralized water access and an honor-system firewood supply for $10. Campers could walk down to the nearby river from their sites. A trail at the far end of the campground leads to rock formations with small caves that contain cave crickets and spiders. Fall visits offered colorful foliage along the walking routes. For additional camping options in the region, see places to camp around BLM Land — Nw Oregon Cascades Field Office.

Beautiful hike along the river

I love this site. There is a trail at the far end that leads to a cool rock formation with caves in it. They are small but really cool to explore. Cute and gross little cave crickets live there as well as those creepy spiders. But over all a beautiful walk in and out. I prefer to go in the fall because of the leaves ❤️

Nice river Spot BLM

I thought all BLM land was free but not the case. We went to a BLM campground before this one but they were completely full. This one had plenty of spaces and was really fun to walk down to the river and back. Dry camping only $14.00 a night or $7.00 for seniors. There’s water at the campground but not at the site. They have firewood available for the honor system of $10.00
