Park at the River

Nice, clean RV park with full hookups and dry camping. Dry camping is next to the river, very pretty. Near hiking trail and tram ride to the top of mt Howard is across the street

Lovely Lake

This park is enchanting - a little oasis in the dry eastern Oregon landscape, huge trees, imposing mountains. It gets packed at the lake shore, but there are lots of places to hang out in the day use area further from the beach that are near-empty. Good facilities. As a plus, the hike at the top of…

Great Night

We stopped here on our way back from Boise to Spokane after picking up our camper in mid-February. A few others pulled in for the night, but still plenty of space. The wind swirled at night, but the rain was nice. There are a couple of spots where you can stay for longer, but mostly good for an…

Beautiful lake!

We arrived in late November, when it was cold, snowy, and practically empty. But the campground and all of its facilities were open, and the camp host was extremely friendly and helpful!

Great Fall Retreat

We enjoyed our off season stay!

Easy back in to our fairly level site.

Unfortunately they had water hookups shut off for winter (after we made our reservation, but before we arrived). So we had to venture back out to the design acted water fill campsite our first morning.

Sites were nice, but…

Large Campground under the Ponderosa Pines

Nicely spaced camp sites with easy access to showers (closed during COVID) and bathrooms. Alpine loop was under renovation during our visit - construction noise woke us each day.

Busy but nice!

This RV park is on the south side of Wallowa Lake nestled on the river that feeds the lake. They have 49 full hookup sites and they definitely pack them in there. We opted for a river site which is dry camping but much quieter and a bit more dispersed.

The area is a great little getaway with a…

Our favorite!

As noted before we love Ponderosa. The camp ground is clean with nice bathrooms as well as showers(showers not available currently due to Covid). Great for riding bikes, water sports, shaded camping and running into town for an ice cream cone if you like. Lots of wildlife around town.

Don't stay here if

You like kind, happy campers.  If America modeled this campground we could create world peace.

Here's what we loved:

  • No confusion on where to park and check-in.
  • Guided us to our spot, helped up park, and showed us how everything worked.
  • Clean, grassy area for our kids to…
  • Gam Gam's review!
  • Our 3 dogs and a cat loved being outside
  • Right across from the office with our three kids having a blast.

Beautiful Location

Great location near the lake and town of Joseph. The park is really busy in the summertime with families and groups enjoying the lake. We had a great time spending two nights here, despite the crowds. It was easy to distance from others during covid times aside from the restrooms where mask usage…

Beach Camping

This campground does not have many amenities, but it is right on the Salmon River. This is a nice spot to go in the spring when it's warm in the valley but still cold up on the mountains. This is dry camping. There are no facilities. But there is a beach!

Great one night stand

Just driving by and there it was. Waiting for me. By the river. Quiet. (Except for slight noise from 95). I was the first there for the evening so I got the prime spot with covered picnic table and level concrete pad. It is literally right off the highway. A very slight drive down to the campsites.…

Incredible views and unbeatable water access

Found this campsite on a lark while exploring the Hells Canyon area for a place to stay for a few days. There are a few dedicated sites that appear to be tent-only, as well as some areas for dispersed camping. Great views down the Snake River and of the canyon walls, two vault toilets, and a nice…
