Within Winema National Forest, Forest Road 960 Campsite provides dispersed camping along forest service roads about an hour's drive from Crater Lake. Campers find multiple large, flat sites suitable for RVs near the intersection of Forest Roads 960 and 961, with additional secluded spots available further off the main road among the trees.
The area generates considerable dust, and mosquitoes are present during camping season. Pets are permitted throughout this US Forest Service-managed dispersed area. Campers can access boondocking options around Diamond Lake from this location, making it a practical base for exploring the broader forest system.
