An unexpected find...

We found this place by taking a wrong turn...and just kept going. I was looking for a spot off FS16, but turned early on FS17. An easy dirt road for motorcycles, after about 19 miles, we arrived. Overlooking the reservoir, near the water pump & clean vault toilet, this was a perfect, off-grid,…

  • Sunset & the pump
  • Water levels were a tad low, and murky, so no swimming.
  • A small fire (with water bucket nearby) to ward off the October chill at night.

Another of our favorite campgrounds.

Another campground we like to get away to. We have peace and quiet, good fishing, and freedom from cell phones. A great spot

Antelope Reservoir

Love camping here. You need to go early in the year if you want to bank fish, after that its boat fishing only. There is a water pump and dump toilets. Coyotes at night are so great to listen to

From Prineville: Travel 30 miles southeast on State Highway 380 to Forest Service Road 17 (Antelope Reservoir Junction). Turn right on Forest Service Road 17, and follow it approximately 12 miles to Forest Service Road 1700-600. Continue on to Antelope Flat Campground and Day-Use Area.
