Zane Shawnee Caverns & Southwind Park

Accessible only by boat, this year-round campground sits on 40 acres with sites accommodating RVs up to 40 feet. All sites feature 30-amp electric hookups, and most include water connections, though sewer hookups are not available at individual sites. Campers use a centralized dump station located near the restroom facilities a few hundred feet from most sites.

The property includes a small fishing pond and gravel roads that can be bumpy in sections. During peak times, the campground typically hosts only a handful of other campers, creating a low-density camping experience. Buildings show some age, and amenities like the on-site restaurant and cave tours may be closed seasonally. The boat-in access requirement makes this spot work best for campers with watercraft and those comfortable with basic hookup camping.

Nice Rustic Stay

Booked last minute here and enjoyed our stay. We had the property mostly to ourselves - there was probably around 5 other camps here. The grounds are well kept but the buildings are starting to look a little rundown. The restaurant/ cafe, stage, and cave were closed while we were there. There is a nice little fishing pond on the property. Our site had water but no sewage - the dump site was located a few hundred feet away at the bathroom. Roads are gravel and were pretty bumpy in some areas. I did not see any paved sites. I was told all electric is 30-amp. Overall, not bad for a last minute stay!
