Excellent Campground

As mentioned in other reviews, the road in can be a little sketchy, but I think it adds to the adventure and once you are there, wow. Owner meets you at the gate, very nice guy to talk to. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. Tons of stuff to do with the kids. They loved the lake and…

No Complaints

The campground was nice, clean and had friendly faces. There is plenty to do-disc golf, sand volleyball, basketball, playground, dog park, not to mention the lake and beaches. There were a lot of dogs the weekend I went but nothing to complain about. Fire pit was nice and functional and the…

Lovely!

Beautiful beach on the campground side. Good sized lots, plenty of space between sites. A little pricey for overnight. Wonderfully clean hot showers and bathrooms with coin laundry available.

Quiet and Comfortable

Not a huge campground, but as a result it was very quiet.

Some sites are small and very sloped. Others have lots of room to spread out. Highly recommend the one we booked! Very clean pit toilets and the campground overall was well maintained. Fire pits have a nice grate to flip over and cook…

Site dependent

As with most campsites, depending on your site the situation varies greatly. We stayed at site 136 which is great if you are looking for semi-decent privacy and lots of shade. Sites are close but with your fire ring off the back at this campsite you have plenty of trees between you and the next…

Amenity and Pet Friendly, but Where are the Kids?

Good location for outdoor and city experiences, along with a relaxing getaway. Workers and permanent campers are very friendly with all the amenities necessary on site, including nice dog park. A small campground that didn’t have many kids for ours to play with during our visit. In addition, hill…

West Branch is a pleasant camground.

We met a group of friends there to kayak on the lake. The lake and the campgrounds are busy places on a weekend in the summer. The campgrounds are clean, quiet and well organized. Spots are large enough that you do not feel crowded even on busy weekends. The lake was busy and a bit choppy with all…

Sioux primitive sites at Raccoon SP

The Sioux sites at Raccoon are open year round. No electricity but there is a water pump and the pit toilets are clean and well (solar) lit 24 hrs. Four sites, each offers some privacy though we had the place to ourselves in early March.

The nearby hiking is great. Try the Wetlands trail for a…

Not Ohio’s best state park, but not the worst either

Stayed here several times in the summer of 2020 bc it was only an hour and a half from home and usually had sites available on or near the lake.

The algae was kind of thick, which made fishing impossible,so we stopped bringing the kayak.

Great Campground

My family has camped here the last two years and I’ve already made reservations for another trip this summer. The amenities are great with nice, clean showers and large sites. We’ve tent camped on the south side of the campground which seems to have more large and secluded sites. Having walked…

Great Snow Hike

Got out for a couple hours hiking in the snow. It was great. Just what we needed to stretch the legs and enjoy some family time. We did the Palomino Loop.  It also was quite interesting getting to the trail. Some nice snow covered back roads.
