The campground offers electric hookups with 30-amp and 50-amp service for equestrian campers traveling with trailers and RVs. Horse owners have access to drinking water, fire rings, picnic tables, and toilet facilities. Campsites are reservable through the Indiana State Parks reservation system, allowing equestrians to secure spots during peak riding seasons.

Located within Whitewater Memorial State Park, the equestrian camp connects directly to bridle trails that wind through the park's forested landscape. Trails provide varied terrain and scenic views for riders of different experience levels. The campground's proximity to the Whitewater River offers natural water access points for horses. Campground rules require proof of negative Coggins test for all horses. The park provides access to propane fill stations for campers requiring extended stays. Most equestrian sites accommodate both horse trailers and camping vehicles, with ample space for portable corrals or highline setups. The well-maintained trails offer riders opportunities for day-long excursions through the park's diverse ecosystems.

      East Fork State Park Campground

A large campground spread out over multiple loops. Roads and campsites are paved. Our site #416 was spacious and secluded at the end of a dead end road. The bathhouse was a short hike away and in good condition.

      Hueston Woods State Park Campground

      Small close site.

I feel this is more of a tent camping campground. You park on pads and park campers anywhere you want. Nice shower house. Not much for kids. Hills.

      Versailles State Park Campground

      Beware of additional daily Fee

Campground is clean but aging. Out-of-state visitors should be aware that they will be charged a $15.00 daily entry fee in addition to their $30-$40. camping fee. Some sights are very unlevel; others are nearly impossible to back into. The staff is nice and friendly.

      Cowan Lake State Park Campground

      Sizeable Site, Good for Families

We stayed in Site 78. The lot was VERY large and well maintained. The asphalt pad was decently level; a picnic table and fire ring were included.

There was significant variety in the types of sites: some were quite wooded while others were full sun. Some sites were much larger than others.

The restrooms were decent. They weren't new; however, they were very clean. I didn't check out any bath houses.

The campground was filled with parents and kids riding bikes, playing, and having fun. Nobody was out of control or obnoxious. Plenty of dogs were present.

      We'll return next summer.
