Horse-friendly camping options near Medway, Ohio are limited. Buck Creek State Park Campground in Springfield offers camping facilities but lacks specific horse amenities like corrals. The campground features a mix of tent, RV, cabin, and glamping accommodations with level concrete pads providing plenty of room between spaces. Raccoon activity requires securing food in vehicles or bungee-corded coolers as these animals have been known to chew through tents to access food.
Buck Creek State Park provides numerous hiking trails where visitors might encounter wildlife, particularly deer. The surrounding natural setting includes a reservoir with multiple beach areas, though none specifically designated for horse access. The campground maintains electric hookups, water access points throughout the grounds, and a dump station near the entrance. Sites 81-86 are particularly spacious with easy access to hiking paths that lead to the camper beach. Quiet hours are inconsistently enforced, especially during holiday weekends when the campground experiences increased visitor traffic and occasional rowdiness from local visitors.

This one is the closest to home! We love it here. Great Lake/reservoir for boating, kayaking swimming and fishing. Two Nice shower houses. Playground. Camp store! Updated fhu sites. Has a good size marina with Store in nature Center. Park is great for riding bikes.
Very small campground, not much privacy between the sites. But is very nice all around. Nice big lake, nice shower house, nice camp store. It has a nice beach. Very well maintained lake .
I feel this is more of a tent camping campground. You park on pads and park campers anywhere you want. Nice shower house. Not much for kids. Hills.
Good family camping ground. Most sites are wooded, kids fishing pond. Good playground. Nice shower rooms. Free putt putt and good camp store.
Have been here twice this year. Great campground. Big camp store with restaurant. Putt putt. Most sites and great, some have slopes. Kid friendly. Good hiking trails
My favorite state park in Ohio (so far). Very clean, lots of activities, nice size sites. Easy to get to from Columbus and lots of activities.
Great quiet area. Can sit and listen to the birds singing and the breeze rustling the leaves. Somehow we were lucky enough to book the only pull through site and it had full hookup on top of that. The woman that checked us in said it’s the most popular site they have because of this reasons. If you have little ones with you, they have a really nice nature center that’s open Friday and Saturday
This park was pretty packed over Labor Day weekend, but it still felt like it wasn’t super crowded. Our space was nice and level. Nice hiking trails in the area. Showers were very nice and clean. Several water spickets throughout the park if you needed to access them. It was a bit of a drive back into the campground, probably 3 1/2 miles.
