FHU loop D has narrow roads and require driving on grass to back in trailer and some campers in other sites had to move their vehicles

No entry gate personnel on a Friday afternoon to accomplish check-in. Went to park office next morning and was informed no check in required prior to Memorial Day. Never saw a Park ranger driving thru campground
ScoutAdvertises heated pool and splash pad, but pool was not heated and colder than lake(major bummer- as this was a major draw for us) and splash pad is still under construction- not new and ready for 2021. Lake is nice and clear, pretty cold(would love to feel it in August or September). Fun to jump into and overall pretty. Wibit should be included or at least offer 1/2 hour slots. Everyone is very nice, close to cute coffee shop and stores in Richmond. Park is in need of updates, just feels used- but can tell that is in process. No COVID restrictions other than"stay distanced" sign, but our adults were vaccinated and we just tried to keep our kids distanced. Good WiFi, everything fairly clean, nice little store w/ inexpensive ice cream. No"bar& grill" as advertised. Newer playground structure, but for younger kids- no swings.

Many sites have long-term occupants but overnighters just as welcome. Main bathrooms are up front and clean and modern while rustic but quite nice enough toilets located at back end. A small pool, mini-golf and recreation center also on site. Owners are nice people who go extra mile to provide a friendly, family atmosphere for residents.

RangerSuper clean KOA with level gravel sites (no weeds popping up through gravel!) 2 Fenced dog areas, nice playground, game room, giant chess set outside, clean pool.. you name it, this KOA has it! I was impressed when Mike helped me back into my site.. it had a little wooden deck with a picnic table (I did not request nor pay extra for this perk!) I noticed something that I've not seen at other campgrounds: each of the waste connection covers had a 'fake' rock over the top. Very clever! The KOA is very tidy and well kept.

ScoutKil-so-qauh, used to be a little hidden gem right outside of town but has turned into quite a popular place, but for good reason. The campground accommodates both luxury rv campers and more rustic private tent or hammock goers like myself. Entering the camping area there is a lush grass opening with large campsites with water and electric hook ups for the RV folk. There are also 2 nice play grounds in this area as well. Continuing down the road you begin to enter the woods which is non electric sites with plenty of trees to make your weekend private and to the right is an overlook of Roush Lake where you can watxh the sunset set the water on fire. There are no fantastic bathrooms just pit toilets but easy get away is worth it.
*I've camped here every season but if you dont like crowds, make sure to avoid the summer holidays.

Cabins also available for rent. Within 25 min of Walmart, hole improvement stores, and restaurants. Overall nice campground with lots to offer. But in most cases there is parking lot style camping.
