Peacful Night in the woods

We were one of only a few campers in the lovely JC Cooper state park campground. All sites have shade and the cool breeze from Lake Kerr is a delightful break from the summer heat.

JC Cooper campground - great water front sites

This campground is a great N.C. State Park campground with a large number of Electric and Water for RV camping. We stayed at site #29 and had great sunset views over the water. NOTE - to bring at least 75 feet of water hose, as some sites have long runs from in front of camper.

Beautiful water, a little cramped

Great safe spot for tubing, fishing, hammocking, swimming. Water felt great. Gorgeous sunset. Campsites are closely sandwiched between each other and since there's not a lot of tree cover I felt like I was sharing a campsite with 20 other people! Ranger drove by at least 3x a day but kept a distance. Bathrooms were nasty. I think I'd come back to Kerr Lake but not this campground.

Lifetime of Camping

This camp ground is full of memories for me. The possibilities are endless. Enjoy the lake. Enjoy sitting around a camp fire. Enjoy walking to the bath house in the rain. Enjoy.
