Meadowbrook Campground

Between Lake Placid and Saranac Lake, Meadowbrook Campground operates on open terrain managed by New York's Department of Environmental Conservation from mid-May through early September. The facility accommodates RVs up to 30 feet with electric, water, and sewer hookups, though some reviewers report conflicting information about hookup availability at all sites.

Sites feature standard picnic tables and fire rings, with outer loop locations offering more privacy through tree and shrub barriers. The central loop sites remain more open with closer spacing. Sam L. notes "the sites were clean, but the fire pit was showing its age." Bathrooms receive consistent praise for cleanliness, with hot showers available when systems function properly. A dishwashing sink near the restrooms adds practical convenience.

Road noise from Route 86 affects sites closest to the highway, while interior locations provide somewhat more buffer. The campground's village setting means sounds of traffic and equipment are audible throughout. Walking distance to ice cream shops, restaurants, and a convenience store makes supply runs simple.

A trailhead for Scarface Mountain departs directly from the campground, connecting to the Saranac 6ers hiking challenge. The location serves as an efficient base for exploring both Lake Placid's Olympic sites and Saranac Lake's recreational opportunities.
