Lake George Campsites

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Situated in Queensbury in New York's Lake George region, this established campground runs from May 1 through October 15 and caters to both tent campers and RV travelers with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections. The grounds are wooded, with many sites offering a degree of tree cover and semi-privacy. The campground also provides drinking water, showers, a dump station, and free WiFi throughout the property.

Noise is the most consistent concern raised by campers here. Interstate 87 (the Northway) sits roughly 1,000 feet to the west, and multiple reviewers note that highway traffic is audible around the clock, making it difficult to hold a conversation outdoors. Mir D. describes it as "large grounds with many options for semi-private wooded sites," though she also confirms: "you do hear noise from the nearby highways." The pool has drawn mixed reactions, with at least one visitor finding it poorly maintained. Staff, however, consistently receives positive mentions across reviews.

Amenities include a rec center, laundry facilities with reasonable pricing, and firewood available on-site for $8.50 a bundle. Full hookup sites tend to be tighter to navigate with larger rigs, and some are positioned directly adjacent to long-term seasonal campers. The bathhouses are functional, though at least one was closed before the season's October 15 end date. Those planning a longer stay in the region can find additional campgrounds near Glens Falls to compare options. The campground makes most sense for RV travelers who need full hookups and proximity to Lake George-area attractions and don't require a quiet overnight environment.

Many campers appreciated the wooded sites and consistently friendly staff. However, persistent highway noise from the nearby Northway was a major concern for most visitors seeking a quiet camping experience.

Lake George Campsites

Pretty campsite, large grounds with many options for semi-private wooded sites. Decent bathhouses, one of them was already closed for the season. They have free Wifi throughout. Firewood is $8.50. No dedicated dishwashing area but they have very reasonably priced laundry, rec center and pool. You do hear noise from the nearby highways. Staff is super friendly and helpful, and site is close to lots of nearby towns and activities!

Not the best

We chose this site for convenience to the size flags park and that was about all it was good for. Very friendly staff and a pool. However it was so close to the thruway we could have been on top of it and for the price I was not impressed.

Highway noise galore

Nice sites, way to close to Northway. I'm longing for home, for peace and quiet. Which is why I like camping. For quiet, it's hard to have a conversation without the need to shout or repeat what you said over the traffic. It doesn't die down overnight. There are so many other campgrounds to go to. I unfortunately will not come back here again. It is clean, not many campers.

TRAFFIC WOES

When we first drove up I almost turned around. But, we had our reservation and there were none local available for full hookups. Driving in, the office was kind of run down. On the way to our site, we passed the "pool". Green, thick, and nasty - seriously! There are many trees, which is nice. BUT, the sites big enough for our camper were difficult to get into, and right next to seasonal campers. These people had so much stuff surrounding them, it was weird. (My opinion ) Painted rocks, knomes, plastic deer, pigs, knick knacks EVERYWHERE. The people were nice, but.. We were at site 212, and were here for 3 night. We had a family function, so leaving was not an option. The Northway was directly to the west , maybe 1000 ft through the woods, extremely loud traffic noise.
