Convenient Location

We spent 2 days here on site M2. It was full hookups. The site pad was packed gravel and slightly unlevel. We have a 27 foot camper and was slightly difficult to maneuver into the site. If your camper sits low, chances are it will hit the road on some of the inclines. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The pool was up to 8ft deep, so watch your children at all times! Propane was available, as well as a small grocery.

Bike Path

I’m rating this campground as a 5/5 because of the location. We road the bike path each day to and from Lake George. It was downhill on the way there and a little bit of an uphill battle on the way back but totally worth it! Bring your bikes!! We had the perfect site with the right amount of privacy. The store had everything you could need and the trolley to Lake George picks up right outside.

Great spot in Lake George

This was our second trip to King Philip's Campground. Big resort with tons of seasonal sites and residents. A small pool, and lots of activities for guests. Sites have full hookups including cable tv. Getting the right site here is key. Some have room, privacy, and trees. Others are close together, and out in the open. Great access to Lake George area, just outside of town, which can be nice given all the activities in town.

Very close sites

We stayed here two nights because the campground we arrived in the area earlier than expected and the campground we wanted to stay at was not yet opened for the season. This campground turned out to be o.k. with a mix of good and bad aspects. It is pretty large with lots of seasonal campers which brings a mixed bag. Some seasonals had very nice, well-kept sites while others have junk and clutter everywhere. Our site (A-15) was a long pull-thru in the front section of the park on the main road but the road traffic wasn’t an issue. The thing we did not like about our site was how close we were to our neighbor. When the windows were open we could hear everything they said inside their camper. Since the campground doesn’t have very many sites to fit large transient RV’s this was pretty much our only choice. The site was gravel but just out our door was sand which made for a mess when it rained. The patio area was pretty large but very little grass and mostly sand. During our stay, the pool was not yet open but it looked like it was way too small to handle the number of campers in the park.  The sewer hook-up was very weird and at an angle that was hard to secure my hose to.  Instead of flowing straight down into the ground, it was at 45 degrees and took a big rock for me to secure it.

Some good things about this park is that it is close to downtown Lake George and there is a nice paved walking/biking path adjacent to the park that runs from Lake George to Glens Falls. The path is perfect for safely walking or biking to Lake George which is less than two miles away. If you like wooded sites with lots of shade there are plenty of sites for you.

Family time

Great campground for families, we stayed at a tent site right near the playground. Pool, arcade, a short trolley ride to downtown lake George. It was a great stay and the kids loved it.

Easy access to Lake George

The staff are friendly. The sites and bathroom are clean. They don’t plan kids activities, but being so close to Lake George I’m sure they discovered they may not need too,

Great family camping

My family and i camped here during the annual Adirondack Nationals Car show. What a great place. Shower rooms are clean and inviting. The staff is amazing and know the area very well and are always willing to help. The camp ground is set up nicely and some sites are very private which is nice as well.

Good for Seasonal Campers

I've visited Lake George before and loved the area, and to be fair, even though it was late June (June 22), we were scheduled to leave on the morning that their "season" officially opened (aka all the fun things started). Additionally, the swimming beach was closed due to water quality. So during the weekday, out-of season, and with just enough rain to make 6 flags an unlikely candidate, we were pretty bored. Again, Lake George is a great place to visit (just not that day).

The campground staff was very nice. The campground was clearly devoted to seasonal campers (moving a camper/trailer into a site and leaving it there for the summer as a weekend home-away-from-home). The remaining tent sites were so exceptionally small that I almost couldn't set up my 10X10 tent and felt like I was invading another person's back yard. The showers were very clean, the market was adequate, there was a small pool, and decent playground. The major plus for the campground is its close locations to Lake George itself, and the availability of being on a trolley stop (when one is "in-season" and it is open.

If I had a camper(RV) and planned to camp seasonally, I would love a spot here (but they are all really crowded). Being a two-night camper, I felt shuffled to the side where the spaces remaining where simply too small to support camping life. We had reserved and paid for 2 nights, and completely out of character with my normal self, we left a night early. It just wasn't worth staying. The staff, as nice as they were, did not offer to reimburse payment for the unused second night even though we were leaving super early in the morning; however, I know the rule and I didn't ask for the refund either.
