There are so many really nice sites at this campground. A lot of water sites that are very spacious with a beautiful view. The bathrooms were pretty awful though. The showers were broken and there was no hot water the entire 5 days we were there.
We really love this campground. The water sites are nice with a lot of them having lake access. Even the off water sites are spacious and the 1 we had off of the water stayed rather dry in the rain.
This campground is close to home, easily accessible, close to grocery stores and has a beautiful beach and playground for kids.
The campground itself isn’t great; there is not much in it. The sites have water and electricity; which is certainly a treat in the high peaks, but that’s really all that’s great about the campground itself. However, it is centrally located and is really only 15 minutes from Lake Placid. There isn’t much there but there is a lot around that makes it worth while to stay there.
When we first arrived the site that we reserved was not in great shape. We were able to switch to another site with ease and could not have been happier. We spent 6 days there in September and it was amazing!
We have visited this campground twice and already have a trip planned again this august! We happened across is in 2020 after deciding last minute to go away for the weekend with friends! It is one of the nicest state campgrounds we have been to. The beach is beautiful; the sites are a decent size and staff is always friendly. The campground has tons of sites and is rarely all booked up; I assume because not everyone knows about it! We plan to go every year!
