High-clearance vehicles have the easiest time, though at least one camper reports completing the full route in a standard sedan by moving rocks by hand. Longer rigs have made it work, but a 39-foot toy hauler and a 22-foot RV were both noted as manageable from the first few sites at either end of the road. Low-clearance vehicles should approach cautiously.

Crowd levels can run high, especially on spring weekends. One visitor counted more than 20 occupied sites before finding a spot in late November, and April visits have drawn similarly dense use. Sites have vegetation between them, which provides some visual separation. The camp sits near a parallel road, and while traffic noise is reportedly minimal, passing vehicles are visible from tent sites.
