Cuba Hwy Pulloff on Forest Road 88

Forest Road 88 leads to this dispersed camping area where RVers and tent campers find spots along a steep, washboarded route that becomes increasingly challenging with elevation. The initial pulloffs accommodate rigs up to 25 feet, but longer vehicles face difficult terrain accessing higher sites that require high clearance or four-wheel drive.

Campers report scattered trash and glass bottles throughout the area, though walking trails provide options for exploring the surrounding sagebrush landscape. Cattle roam freely through the camping zones. AT&T cell service registers one to two bars at lower elevations and improves as the road climbs. Visitors use this spot as an overnight stop when seeking camp sites outside Cuba, particularly when hookup options remain limited in the region.

A remote boondocking spot offering solitude and scenic views, though campers should prepare for no amenities, challenging road access for larger rigs, and some litter issues.

FR 88 - dispersed camping 10-19-25

Right off hwy - beginning of has limited spots (25’ or less total length) as you start going up the road it gets way rutted / washboarded out - I would recommend 4x4 - some spots need high clearance. Cell service ATT - 1 / 2 bars at the bottom as you go up the road you get better service

Quick place to pull off and camp

Not much in the area available for hook up rv sites. We decided to boondock here for the night with a generator for AC(traveling with dogs). The road in is steep for long rigs. It’s a bummer people throw so much trash and glass bottles around. Very pretty site otherwise and nice trails to walk. Many cows wandering about in the area.

Primitive area, very private

It was getting late after a full day of driving and I happened to find this site. No amenities, but we were the only people in the area. We were just thankful for a place to stop. Lots of sage brush and we had a full moon that night and the area was lit up l, bright as a cloudy day!
