Description
Along the Río Vallecitos corridor in Carson National Forest's riparian scrub country of northern New Mexico, this flat pullout sits just off a sandy two-track that dips behind a screen of bushes — out of sight from the road and quiet enough at night that the only sound is moving water. The surface is a firm, salty sand that holds up in dry conditions but warrants caution after rain; a class-B or small van-sized rig handles the approach without issue. It serves well as an overnight stop near Ojo Caliente.
