Lake View Campground — Cave Lake State Park

Beautiful, clean campo and bathrooms. Showers hot even at end of October. Lovely day hikes! Great stop along the loneliest highway.

A lot of sites, but not many had great spots for tent camping.

Some cool trails to explore.

We were going to camp there and the lake had been drained. So we moved on.

About 6 miles off the main highway on a good road. Lake is not much, but the area is beautiful. Lots of hiking in area. No hookups but there are flush toilets and showers. Would not recommend for large trailers as the CG road is a little tight. We have a 22 foot trailer and were OK.

This campground is just the best spot! A minute walk to the lake and spacious camping sites. Restrooms and showers were clean! Park rangers and maintenance folks are very friendly. I will definitely be doing this annually from now.

Just note that when going in the water, beware of the mud! It’ll suck you in. Deep in some areas. Also, if you plan to walk around the entire shore, we had to turn around a third of the way because we didn’t plan on scaling the rock wall and falling straight into the water.

Great little oasis in the desert. Lots of relatively secluded campsites with nice views. Beautiful hikes down by the lake. The lake itself, while pretty to look at, is not at all pleasant to go to. There were several people fishing, but when I tried to go down I sank ankle deep in smelly sticky mud.

This campground was a great stopover for the night as we headed south to Zion and Bryce, UT. Both Lakeview and Elks Point campgrounds were very clean and offered scenic overlooks of the Nevada hills below. Keep driving past the first loop through the white gate to the second loop of this campground for the best sites (on the left). Individual flush toilets and free showers were very clean. Cave lake is nothing to special but had pretty clear water for a reservoir. Not ideal for swimming (you have to walk through about 1 foot deep mud to get to the waters edge in which lots of fishing tackle is snagged). Fishing was awesome. Lake is native and stocked with rainbow and brown trout.

We stayed at Lakeview Campsite on our way up to Idaho from Utah. We were lucky enough to snag the last spot on a Thursday afternoon, and watched several folks come in after us and have to camp in the overflow lot.

The campground itself is nice enough, with water in some sites (no hookups) and picnic tables. There are nice toilets and fantastic showers.

The proximity and lack of natural boundaries between mean that you can pretty much hear everything from every site. But, if you’re lucky enough to have quiet neighbors, the campsite is wonderfully isolated with great views of the stars.

Despite the name, there is are no caves that one can see at the lake. This lake is a very small hidden desert treasure. There is a lakeside campground with few campsites that fill up very quickly. There is also BLM land 20 minutes from the lake where you camp disperse camp for free.

There are toilets, and showers available at the campsite. Dogs, fishing, and boats are allowed. Along the backside of the lake are the best spots if your looking to let your dog off of the leash to play in the water, or be secluded in the soft grass and shade of the bushes.

This is a nice family spot to spend the weekend. It gets very crowded very fast so be sure to leave early if you want to stay at one of the lakeside campgrounds. All roads are paved.

Just spent a week there. Loved it! Very clean nice camp spots. Most spots not real big. If you have a big rig not recommend. Bathrooms with free showers, free dump for paid campers.

Fishing was awesome! Great hiking trails, except no printed maps of trails. Great mountain biking too, we did all three.

Lots to see close by. $15 a night. No reservations accepted, it filled up for the weekend.

My dad was visiting me here in Bullhead City and said "we're going camping July 4th weekend, would you like to come?" Well our ideas of camping are quite different: Me tent, dry camp, dirt, trees. Him hookups, satellite TV, AC... He said a guy he knows told him about Cave Lake north of Vegas. I looked it up saw it had both styles and said sure we'll go. The park is near Ely NV. There are two campgrounds in the Lake view and Elk flat. Elk flat is some distance from the lake in juniper trees they have flush toilets and showers. There is water and each site has a picnic table, fire ring and a graded area for a tent or RV. Lake view has the same amenities but within walking distance to the lake. There is a Ranger Station at each campground. The fishing is supposed to be very good there but we didn't fish much. I enjoyed camping there and would go back.
