Lahontan State Recreation Area's equestrian campground is one of the more specialized sites within the park, set up specifically for visitors arriving with horses. Amenities are basic: pit toilets and picnic tables. No hookups are available, and the RV length limit is zero feet, making this a tent and horse trailer destination. Reservations are available at $25 per night. The 9th Street Campground — Lahontan State Recreation Area sits just 0.1 miles east for campers without livestock, and Silver Springs Beach Campground - Lahontan State Recreation Area is less than a mile northwest for those wanting water access.
Description
No hook-ups. RV & Tent welcome, max 60 feet. Vault toilets, picnic table and fire ring. A camping limit of 14 days in a 30-day period is enforced. Sanitary dump station facilities are available near both entrances to the park. NOTE: Showers and flush toilets are CLOSED during the off-season from October to May.

From the park entrance in Silver Springs, follow the road until the pavement ends and turns to gravel. Continue on the gravel road until you see the sign for beaches 9 & 11. Turn right and follow the road to the equestrian area.
