Free camping with full hookups is a rare combination, and Lincoln Park in Superior, Nebraska delivers both. The municipal campground runs approximately 20 concrete pads, each with water and electric hookups, plus a separate area where tent campers can also access electricity. A dump station is located behind the nearby high school. Note that water hookups may not be active during early-season stays, as confirmed by campers who visited in March.
Access requires attention. Drivers with vehicles over 6,000 pounds must use the 8th Street entrance rather than 4th Street, which has a posted three-ton weight limit. The campground operates from early February through mid-November, giving it a longer window than many free municipal sites in the region.
The park sits within a broader recreational setting, with a playground, a fishing pond, and clean restrooms on the grounds. "Park was very clean and quiet," noted Matthew B., a sentiment echoed across multiple visits. Background noise from kids at the playground is audible during the day. Birdsong tends to dominate otherwise.
Campers using Superior as a staging point for Kansas-side water recreation will find Willow Campground at Lovewell State Park and Cedar Point Campground at Lovewell State Park roughly eight miles to the south. Lincoln Park works well as a no-cost overnight stop or a base for exploring the area on a budget.
