    Lincoln Park

    Developed and free!

There's a check-in kiosk and each site has water and electrical. That's very unusual and I'm quite glad I came here. There's a playground for kids across the way and I don't have any kids so it's of no use to me, but it's there and you can hear kids playing in the background. Other than that, very quiet. Birds chirping.

IMPORTANT: Do not use the 4th street entrance if your vehicle is over 6,000 pounds. There's a three ton weight limit on it. Use the 8th street entrance instead as shown on my Google Maps picture.

    Deshler City Park Campground

Camping in a very unique town

You will roll in and see its pretty simple. Make sure you keep an eye out for water. I parked and noticed the site next to me had a spot for water hook up. Luckily i had a long enough hose. The gas station is open from 7 a.m 7 p.m so if you need something stop there first as itmay be closed when settled in. You most likley be here by yourself unless its father day weekend or the fair in augast. Overall good stop

Guide to Republic

Campsites near Republic, Kansas offer year-round camping options within a region characterized by rolling hills and open prairies. The area sits at approximately 1,700 feet elevation with seasonal temperature variations from below freezing in winter to over 90°F in summer months. Most camping areas provide basic amenities while several parks maintain concrete RV pads that remain accessible even during wet weather conditions.

What to do

Fishing for walleye: Lovewell State Park's Walleye Point Campground attracts anglers seeking walleye catches. "Walleye point is named after what you will catch," notes Shaeli E., highlighting the spot's reputation for consistent fishing.

Kayaking exploration: Take watercraft to Cottonwood Campground for paddling adventures. "We drop in with the kayaks at this point and do a lot of fishing and swimming here," mentions Shaeli E., suggesting accessible water entry points for small watercraft.

Disc golf courses: Several campgrounds maintain disc golf facilities, including Rocky Pond City Park. Stefanie Z. reports, "It's patrolled by police regularly and is a peaceful, serene, no frills place to camp for a night. Also included - boat ramp for recreation or fishing, bathrooms, disc golf course."

Winter camping options: Some campgrounds remain operational during colder months with certain limitations. As Ethan E. notes about winter camping at Lovewell: "The bathrooms were open, however there was no running water. Showers and the main store were both closed, not surprisingly with it being winter."

What campers like

Free camping with hookups: Lincoln Park in Superior, Nebraska offers complimentary sites with utilities. Rick M. explains, "There's a check-in kiosk and each site has water and electrical. That's very unusual and I'm quite glad I came here."

Small town proximity: Many camping areas sit near small towns providing access to supplies. Shaeli E. notes about Rocky Pond City Park: "The thing I like the most is that it is right in town so you have the grocery store and gas stations all within 3 miles."

Concrete parking pads: Level concrete sites accommodate various vehicle sizes. Marilyn S. reports about Riverside Park: "We are at a level concrete pad site. Water is available but not at our site. There are two long-term campers here with permits. Some sites have concrete, others are grass."

Well-maintained fire rings: Some campgrounds feature specially designed cooking amenities. Ethan E. shares about Lovewell: "The camp fire ring was THE BEST I have EVER seen! It was spacious to accommodate a substantial fire, and had an ADJUSTABLE grill grate! It was perfect for regulating temperatures from cooking to keeping warm."

What you should know

Water level fluctuations: Lovewell Lake serves irrigation purposes which affects water levels. Grethel P. notes: "Place was very nice and peaceful. Great Lake views. Nice for bike riding. Very clean bathrooms but not much hot or warm water available."

Winter water shutoffs: Cold weather camping requires additional preparation as campgrounds often close water systems. Sunny B. mentions about Rocky Pond City Park Campground: "Rating a three for two reasons: 1) the potable water is shut off (dump station open), and 2) the RV camp spots are directly next to each other (No room for privacy from the neighbors)."

Cell service limitations: Mobile coverage varies significantly across camping areas. Janet C. reports about Cedar Point: "The scenery was beautiful. They also had a nice playground, plenty areas to fish and explore. Only complaint was the spacing of the water spigot and absolutely no cell service for the area."

Self-registration processes: Many parks operate without staff presence. Lisa M. explains about Rocky Pond: "This is a self service park and it's $20 for full hook ups although some of the spaces only had 50 amp service instead of 50 and 30."

Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Deshler City Park Campground includes child-friendly facilities. N I. mentions: "Disc golf, horseshoes, pool during season, volleyball, wonderful green space with mature trees, bushes and flowers. Washington Park covers 10 acres. There is a walking trail about¾ mile."

Swimming options: Several parks provide swimming facilities during summer months. UnnamedAdventures notes about Chester Municipal Park: "If you have kids there is a playground and ample room for your human or fur babies to run free and burn energy."

Budget-friendly family trips: Free or low-cost camping makes family outings more affordable. Joyce S. reports about Lincoln Park: "Quite park with lots of space. There are about 20 free Rv spots with electric and water hookups and several site with electricity for tents. They have nice clean bathrooms, a large playground in the shade, and a fishing pond."

Winter light displays: Seasonal decorations create family-friendly environments. Sunny B. shares about Rocky Pond: "We always prefer to camp by some sort of body of water, so check that box. AND they have a great Christmas light show throughout the park around the lake/campground for the locals that my daughter enjoyed!"

Tips from RVers

Hookup location awareness: RV sites may require extended hoses or cords. Lisa M. cautions about Rocky Pond: "If you stay in the upper level, you might want to make sure you have a long sewer hose as it is quite a ways behind the trailer."

Site spacing considerations: Privacy between RV sites varies considerably. Grethel P. notes about Lovewell: "Definitely would love to return but wish there was more privacy with the neighboring sites. Sites don't provide much privacy at all."

Small town RV stopover value: Several reviewers highlight local dining options near camping areas. Jon G. comments about Harbine Park: "Looks to be about 5 campsites here with full hookups. $10 to camp, pay at city hall about 1/2 mile away. Shaded area with a short trail along the creek."

Electrical amperage variations: RVers should check power compatibility before arrival. Wayne P. notes about Chester Municipal Park: "Small but not much use FREE. Only 2, 30 foot sites and 30 amp electric plus water. Did I mention Free? We didn't unhook and the site was level."
