Description

Natural Resources Conservation Service

The NRD has provided four covered picnic areas at Davis Creek that include both shelter and water. The recreation area includes two camping areas with electricity and water as well as two boat ramps. A new tent camping area was completed in the summer of 2019. A coin operated shower house is also provided. Camping costs $30 per night.

Security lighting has been installed at the rec area, near restrooms and the boat docks. The Lower Loup NRD also offers fishing access at Davis Creek for people with limited mobility. An aluminum fishing pier has been installed to meet the needs of those confined to wheelchairs. For more information, see the Davis Creek Recreation Area map.

There are two boat ramps, a fish cleaning station, an RV sanitary dump, and parking areas. Because its primary use is irrigation storage, the lake levels vary with the time of year. The lake is at its recreational best from Memorial Day to Independence Day. Then water levels begin to drop as irrigation use increases.
