Boat-in access only puts McGarry Bar Primitive Boat Camp out of reach for most campers. The take-out at river mile 103.1 along the Upper Missouri River Breaks is small and the signage is not visible from the water, so paddlers should navigate by mile marker rather than looking for posted markers on shore. One metal fire ring is on site. A short trail downstream leads to the Lewis and Clark May 27, 1805 campsite marker, a few hundred yards from camp. Paddlers planning a multi-day float can find campsites near Winifred or check nearby river access points such as Judith Landing to the west. Bring all supplies from shore before launching.
