Eagle Creek Developed Boat Camp sits at river mile 56.0 along the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument, accessible only by watercraft. The site features five metal fire rings plus additional rock rings, with two vault toilets serving campers who arrive by boat or raft.
Large cottonwoods create shade across the camping area, which provides ample space for tent setups and hammock hanging. Hikers can explore a slot canyon system, while pictographs appear on reddish rock formations near a juniper tree in the opposite direction from the canyon access. Other Hole-in-the-Wall Boat Camp lies 6.4 miles downstream for multi-day river trips. Lewis and Clark camped across Eagle Creek from this location on May 31, 1805, making this a historically significant stop along their route.
