Road access determines whether this site works for a given rig. The pull-in requires backing a trailer down to reach the flat camping area, then reversing back up into brush to exit, which makes it a poor fit for long trailers or anyone with limited maneuvering experience. The site itself is large enough for tents and multiple RVs, with a rock fire ring and firewood available from fallen trees nearby. The Little Blackfoot River runs close enough for easy fishing access and filtered water. Traffic is light. Among the campsites near Helena National Forest, this is the last marked dispersed site along this stretch of road, with Little Blackfoot River 2nd Disperse Campsite located less than a mile back. Anglers and self-sufficient campers comfortable with trailer handling will get the most out of this free, drive-in spot.
