The sites themselves vary in character. The first pullout closest to the road sits in full sun on rocky ground where tent stakes won't penetrate easily, though the tree line further down the road offers more shade. Free-range cattle share the area, and the gate into the main corridor is sometimes closed, particularly in late fall and winter. Cell service is available, and the road is in good condition during dry months, though mud can be a factor in spring. Four-wheel drive is worth having.
