A quiet country retreat nestled in the picturesque rural outskirts of Higginsville, Missouri. Our yard consists of 3 acres of a 180-acre farm in which we have three RV sites with water and electric hookups, two camping sites and one on-site travel trailer. Wifi is available at all sites, except one. Green Acres at Red Brick Farm is located just 50 miles east of Kansas City off of I-70 at Exit 49. Once you are off of I-70 your drive is less than 8 minutes away on all blacktop roads. At Exit 49 there is also a Pilot Station for RV fuel ups. Please arrive before dusk! Site 1 is on gravel with 30 amp hookup and water. Site 2 and Site 3 are on gravel with a 20/30/50 amp hookup and water. Site 4 and Site 5 are located on grass with a 20 amp standard outlet. Site 4 and site 5 are in flexible locations. Site 6 Is the on-site travel trailer, ‘Ain’t She Cute’. No pets are allowed in ‘Ain’t She Cute’. It is also great If you would like to bring friends that do not have an RV. The vintage style travel trailer is completely renovated and decorated with collectibles and antiques and is available for booking. It is furnished with a queen size bed, tiny kitchen, TV, wifi, and full size, not trailer size, bathroom. The trailer is for 2 guests, but an additional guest may sleep on the daybed, preferably a child or a small adult. There is an additional fee if you reserve ‘Ain’t She Cute’. There is also a great little breakfast diner, called Michelle’s Place located just 3 miles from the Farmhouse. Interested in sightseeing we are a short drive from Confederate State Park, Missouri Veteran's Cemetery, and several Civil War sites. In addition to historic sites, numerous of Missouri's finest wineries and orchards are just a 10 to 30 minute drive from our location. You may also want to take a drive or ride on the Old Trails Scenic Byway, Route 24 for a car or motorcycle tour that will reset your pace from city life. The HIPPIE TRAILER is located on MILO FARM - SACRED LAND- The 50 acres of Milo Farm sits just east of Kansas City & is a nature retreat with a cedar forest, a hardwood forest, 2 ponds, bohemian lodge, art studio, pool, barn, miles of trails, campsites & other buildings. This whimsical camping spot is artistically themed with a far-out trailer, deck, fire pit, a forest nook with hammock. The psychedelic decor of the interior comfortably sleeps 3 max. If you have more campers, they can pitch a tent near the trailer. The trailer has electric, heater and AC. Outhouse with compost toilet is just down the trail. Campers can swim in pool by lodge from 12pm-6pm.
Great for the spiritually minded with several meditation spots and portals. Ask about availability of bike, boat and art cart golf cart rental if interested.
This glamping experience is painless with no tent to put up, but you will need to bring normal camping supplies like bedding (sleeping bags, etc), water jugs (for cleaning up and drinking), coolers, etc. Fill water jugs at lodge or at pool pump. Outdoor shower is by the pool pump as well.

This was an interesting stay at the Worlds of Fun campground. Located on the property there are RV sites and rental cabins. All RV sites were concrete with 50/30/20 amp, water and sewer. Back-in sites on rows 1 and 3 and pull through sites on row 2.
The theme park offered discounted tickets when staying at the campground and parking for the parks was included. Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun are internally connected, making it easy to walk between the two.
There is a pool, hot tub, laundry and clean bathrooms with showers. The campground did attempt to improve privacy with strategically placed trees and shrubs.
Row 1 (sites 1-20) is along a busy highway with semi truck noise 24 hours a day. I recommend either paying more for the pull-through (further from the road) or the back in sites 69-82 in row 3.
Security was disappointing, as there was no gate to the campground, nor a gate around it. So our campsite (site 2) that backed up to the road was 10 feet off the public sidewalk. Reviews of this campsite on other websites mentioned some petty theft, so we kept our outdoor compartments locked (nothing was stolen).

Our friends stayed in the cabins which are awesome. The RV sites were right on top of each other so would not great. Very little green space but had a lot of amenities and the cleanest bathrooms!
ScoutMy kids and stayed in a Cabin and it was nice! They have a pool there, a store, and lots of trees and also have a campfire spot. They also have TV with a good amount of Channels. Will visit again
GuideThe only real thing this has going for it is proximity to an amusement park. It's in the middle of a sketchy at best neighborhood and is extremely crowded in the months the park is open. (May to October) Cabins are okay and meet basic needs but are not cleaned thoroughly.

Located in east central Kansas on 2600 acre Lake LaCygne (cooling reservoir for KCPL coal-fired power plant). No swimming or skiing allowed, only fishing boats. We stayed on site 112 in View Point Loop next to some permanent residents. There’s no stay limit here so some sites are very messy. Paved roads with gravel sites having W/E, mostly 30A but a few 50A like ours. Check in at the Marina to see which ones are available at this all first come first serve cg. They even have a few FHU sites but I imagine they are all taken by the residents. Nice dump station located in the back of the park along with a few rustic cabins. We enjoyed a waterfront site but there were many 30A sites available in a more wooded setting in several different loops. There are about 113 sites here.

Nice place, but just didn't care for how much the cops drove threw nonstop, we are camping to get away from people and doesn't make me feel at peace wondering why so many cops always drive thru.
ScoutSpent 5 nights. The campground filled up on the weekend but it was very quiet. There are a couple of small lakes, one of which has kayak rentals. Several hiking trails. I have stayed here before and never encountered any problems If you want a quiet relaxing campground, this may be for you.
RangerBeautiful secluded campsite - amenities were clean. Kayak rentals were available for Lake Buteo - kayakers were out on the lake, and the lake has a trail all around it. Nice trail. The other lake, Clearfork Lake, was great for fishing for us! We did have a problem with Raccoons, but with our site being on the very edge of the sites I think that may be inevitable.

Small,secluded camp sites on picturesque lawn surrounding 3story red brick farmhouse near Higginsville, MO. Two tent sites. Two or three small RV sites and one parked RV trailer available as a nightly rental. Bathroom with shower available. Water and electric available. Friendly and helpful hosts reside in the big house. There are places to eat nearby. Fire pit with comfortable chairs in corner of yard. Very pleasant stay. Relaxing for the soul.

We had a fun and relaxing time and loved the woodsy feel to it. We stayed here for a weekend in July 2020 and had a great time! It is under new ownership and they are working to remodel and renovate all areas. I got to meet one of the owners and one of the owner's kids who works there and they were very nice and very helpful. In fact, all staff I had contact with were! We had a nice full hookup RV site with a very woodsy feel. Well shaded, grass and trees, view of water and nice space around us. Gravel site with picnic table and fire ring. The pool is renovated and very nice. It is very large, zero entry, up to mostly around 5 ft deep with a small area that was 9ft; there is a children's area with a sprinkler. Roads throughout campground are gravel, not paved, if that makes a difference with kids bringing scooters or bikes. We drove around to see the rest of the campground and saw lots of sites that I'd like to camp in when we come back. The cabins look nice, too. Waved at people sitting in front of them, but did not see inside them. I'm looking forward to go here again and excited to see the updates they make over the next year!
Note: Included in your camp fee you get 2 free daily passes per night of camping to the pool and a discounted rate for any other swimmers; so for our family with 4 we had the free passes go to the parents and paid $3 each for the kids to swim & we did this two days. As long as you have the wrist band on you can come and go all day to the pool.
Cons: quite a bit of poison oak around the fish cleaning area, shade at the pool is at a minimum, my phone (AT&T) could not get service there.
ScoutGreat little spot to go for a weekend get away. Primitive sites all the way up to family, ADA, and full service sites. Attendants are always friendly. And the place is very clean. That includes the bath and shower facilities that were recently updated. There are enough easy to mid level trails in the park to keep you busy for a day or two, along with a small lake that has rentable kayaks. $10 a person for 2 hours. You have to keep your food and trash locked down over night. Close to town so there are trash pandas everywhere.

LegendThis state park is a hidden gem in central Missouri. It has something to offer everyone in the family. There are several small lakes and plenty of hiking trails to keep everyone busy. The campground is one of the better ones in the state park system. They are spread out and are level. The bathhouse has been newly renovated. The people in the park are some of the friendliest we have come across.

This park is privately owned. It has a very nice in ground pool along with a storm shelter which gives piece of mind in crazy Missouri weather. Shade seems to be scarce at a lot of the sites (all are full hook up I believe). They have what seems to be quite a few full time campers living here. Hard to get through on phone lines to book and no online booking options but overall a very clean campground with friendly owners.
GuideWe camped here in September 2020. There are nice spots right by the lakes with big trees for shade. Roads going up higher past us were a little rough but made for great walks with kids. Quiet and well spaced. Kids found tons of frogs and snails to play with. Too late in the year for the pool to be open but looked nice. Would camp again.

This place we found super late, and was well marked and easy to access. There are street lights marking the parking areas which does leak some light but you’re able to see the bathrooms.

GuideNice park, great facilities, but make sure to have your receipt handy. We stayed and paid for 3 nights but the manager tried to say we didn’t pay for the 3rd night and was at our site trying to collect. Was there to view the eclipse, and had a great time otherwise.
RangerWe stayed in site 22 last night on our way to South Dakota. The check in experience was easy, the site was clean and place was nice. We arrived late and hungry and were able to go across the highway to KC BBQ ribs and it was delicious! They also deliver to the campground! This campground was being enjoyed by families and it was nice to see kids playing on a playground.
GuideLet's Share COVID and a campfire song. When we booked a tent site in the KOA we didn't expect much but assumed it would work for the night while driving across the USA. Upon arrival we were a little put off by being stuck with several other tents in a field and noticed we were expected to share our fire ring with the tent next door... this was not ok with us and we left promptly and snagged a nice spot in the nearby Blue Springs Recreation Area. Traveling during summer 2020 has been interesting and to expect strangers to share a fire ring and be crammed very close during a pandemic is not only careless but not fun. UGH
