All-first-come, first-served sites at this county-managed campground on the shore of 2,600-acre Lake LaCygne means arriving early pays off. The lake is a cooling reservoir for a coal-fired power plant, so swimming and water skiing are off the table; fishing boats are permitted. Around 113 sites spread across several loops include water and electric hookups, with a handful of full hookups, though those tend to stay occupied by long-term residents. Cell service is limited. The bathhouse gets generally positive marks for cleanliness, and a dump station sits in the back of the park. Deer have been spotted moving through the sites. Anglers and places to camp near Pleasanton who want direct water access will find this a practical base.
