Clint Converse Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Reachable by boat, foot, or vehicle, Clint Converse Campground sits within Land O'Lakes State Forest near Outing, Minnesota, and runs from mid-May through mid-October at $17 per night. The campground has 32 standard sites with no hookups, drinking water, vault toilets, and a boat ramp. Generators and UTVs are permitted, which is worth knowing if a quieter stay is a priority, though reviewers generally report the campground stays uncrowded through the week.

Sites are spacious. Several campers note the layout includes a sunny central area where tents and gear dry out quickly in the morning, a practical advantage in a region prone to damp nights. A boat ramp provides direct water access, and a trout lake sits nearby up the road, making the campground a reasonable base for anglers. The access roads have drawn some comment, so drivers towing rigs should confirm current conditions before arriving.

"Campground is generally quiet and not too busy," notes Jen K., who spent a full summer here as a campground host in 2022. ATV riders have also used the campground as an overnight stop, and the site accommodates big rigs. Cell service is listed as available. Campers exploring the region can find additional campgrounds near Land O'Lakes State Forest or check out nearby options like Land O'Lakes dispersed camping about five miles northeast. Arriving on a weekday in early September tends to offer the most site availability before the season closes in mid-October.

Great place for ATV

We rode ATVs to this campground in 2024 and we plan on stopping again for a night in 2025. Spacious sites but we set our tents up in the sunny center area so things dried out quickly in the morning.

Peaceful

Was here every summer in the late eighties and early nineties as a kid with my family and it’s still as nice and peaceful as it was then. I’ll continue to keep coming back every summer

Loud

Camped here years ago it was quiet. Now it’s after 10:00 pm and some jerk is running the loudest generator I have ever heard!

UTV friendly DNR campground on Lake Washburn

My husband and I served as campground hosts for the summer of 2022 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this peaceful little campground.  There are 32 standard sites (no hookups) spaced nicely throughout the park, drinking water, boat ramp and several vault toilets.  Campground is generally quiet and not too busy.  Generators and UTVs are allowed.
