Upper Peninsula Golf & Lake Resort

We were going to stay at this “resort” tonight but when we drove in, we took a little look around and got out as fast as we could! This is no “resort”. It is a garbage dump masquerading as a “campground.” There was no one in the “office” and the place was not mowed or even taken care of in the slightest. It was surrounded by a swamp which look like a breeding ground for a million mosquitos. There were several “campers” there that look like they had been living in the squalor. Do NOT try to stay at this garbage dump! It is scary bad! It should not even be listed on The Dyrt as it is a horrible as it can possibly get!

The campground had power and water hookups, adequate space, well-maintained property, and a beautiful view of the lake. Lots of old ruins and history in the area! This is a great spot for people who want to go exploring, fishing, and are interested in area history. When camping along the shoreline, be prepared for very windy nights.
