"May want to brIng extra water hose as water hook ups can be farther away than expected. Park is neat and kept up. It attaches to the city’s river walk which makes walking into town safe and easy."
"It sits along the Rifle River next to Rifle River Campground and Whites Campground.
The campground is huge and offers so much!"
"Campground offers many amenities and with the river right on site there is so much to do. We always go tubing and kayaking. Bathrooms and showers are decent for a campground."
We stayed here 2 years ago. The office where payment is made is a few miles away from the actual campground.
There is a dump station and water at the fairgrounds. Along the left side near the dump / water station as you enter are huge grassy sites marked by electrical outlets at the rear of the sites. The rest of the fairgrounds are set up like a traditional campground on a "loop" style. It looks like almost all the sites will accommodate a 40 footer easily.
There were 2 or 3 campers who appeared to be long term seasonal guests but it did not distract from our overall stay.
We pull an Imagine 2500RL pulled by a Ford F-150 max trailer package.
We stayed 4 nights and spent the days traveling around Bay City.
Founds a great BBQ that had been shared by MI PLAYGROUND --- Meaty's Roadhouse BBQ& Sausage Shack Bay City.
We are planning our Summer 2024 travels and will; be stopping at the Bay County Fairgrounds again this summer.
Rustic feel as all sites are electric but no water hook up. There are spigots in the center as well as a dump station and potable water fill. My family has camped here for years as it is close to home. They sell fire wood and the bath houses are cleaned multiple times as day and the showers are usually pretty warm as well. Great place to camp as a group. A few different play grounds and a full beach across the road.
This campground is the perfect spot if you want to still have a camping experience and get away from RV parks. The terrain there makes for a beautiful view. The new owners are great and made our group feel right at home! The pool, putt putt, and walking trails were nice as well! The pull through sites were great for the two 28’ fifth wheels and 30 ft bumper pull in our group. There are a lot of trees but the new owners have worked hard to make sure the sites are cleared enough to park in. Will definitely be back again and will be interested to see what more great things Shane and Cindy have in store for this place.
We stayed here over Labor Day Weekend 2021 and had a great time. The electric sites are all large campsites that are very long with lots of options on how you want to setup. Awesome wood pricing that's delivered directly to the campsite. Lots of walking trails and the campground was dog friendly. Extremely friendly owners who keep the campground and it's facilities very very clean. The outdoor showers were great! Great water pressure and HOT water! There's a little Fresh Produce stand across the street, easy walking distance for some great veggies, eggs, and baked goods. Can't wait to come back and see what the new owners have added after the season!
Great Cell Coverage on AT&T (80mbps+ down); decent coverage on Sprint/TMobile and Verizon.
Nice little county campground, under the canopy of trimmed pine trees. Lots were large, no issues with backing in our 36’ TT with 2 slides (make sure to clean your slides from the pine needles before you go). Fire pits were small And installed in ground, electrical was up to 30amp, and sites were all dirt for most part. They do have sites in front of the park (outside the loops) that is grass but in full sun. It is pet friendly. They have a few spots for fishing, but if you would Luke to swim, you will have to go across the street to the day use (still included with your stay) beach. Only real issues we had (just me) was starting around 9:30-10, the rangers would drive around the loops every 10-15 minutes until midnight (probably longer, but that’s when we turned in) and their lights from the pickup would blind us. In the back end of the park there was 4-5 loops and the loops are the size of a roundabout. So every time the truck would go into any of the loops it would constantly shine in your eyes when you are trying to enjoy the fire.
Decent sized and private sites. Clean restrooms, cute camp store. Nice beach and boat ramp. We’ve stayed here several times(both with our 5th wheel and just tent camping) and enjoy it. Staff could use some improvements- can be rude, unprofessional. Nice dog run for my mutts and mini golf course(has basketball, baseball, volleyball courts too). Overall, beautiful park.
Rustic first come first serve sites. Well water pump and vault toilets. No shower. We started on spot 8 but moved to 21 after one night - 8 was near the toilets and you get the occasion whiff of poop while 21 is on lake and more secluded. All the spots are very large with picnic table and fire pit. No grate for cooking so be sure to pack. The lake is small but good for kayak & paddle boarding. Areas of sand but fairly murky. We swam and floated for a few hours in tubes. My friend did catch a handful of bluegill.
We stayed in a travel trailer on site 73 the week before the 4th of July week. The park and bathrooms were always clean, showers were clean and had good water pressure. They did lose power in the whole park for about 3 hours due to a squirrel chewing through a wire somewhere. The beach was nice, water is crystal clear. we will return in the future
Campground is very nice sites are concrete pads and level! Sites are mostly shaded.
