State Park
William Mitchell State Park is a popular camping, fishing, and boating destination. The 660-acre park is situated between Lake Mitchell and Lake Cadillac, providing excellent opportunities to view a variety of wildlife. The quarter-mile Clam Lake Canal connects the two lakes. Under road walkthrough by canal to get from one lake to another. The canal is in the Guinness Book of World Records!
Fee Info
Michigan Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into state parks and recreation areas, state boat launches, state forest campgrounds, and state trail parking lots.

Stopped here for a night…very crowded and loud with the road. Not very relaxing but good for a quick stop through.

Great park right in town. Love taking the boat and enjoying both lakes with the kiddos. Careful of Lake Cadillac and the rocks in the water.
GuideSome sites are great
So, we usually get really decent sites when we go to Cadillac (there are a few really nice ones) but there are some there that are just a ridiculous size. That was ours this time. And the fire pit was in such an awkward spot...it was a good thing we knew other people there to relax at their fire because if we used ours it would probably have burned a vehicle from the neighboring lot. Large beach across the road is decent but the small beach in the park is laughable. But, we usually go to be with family and it a decent campground to get everyone together in.
