Fishing and paddling draw campers to Long Lake, where a boat launch provides direct water access and weedy conditions that tend to favor anglers working the shallows. Sites vary noticeably: some are tree-covered and forested, others open and grassy along the lake's edge. The campground sits near an ORV trailhead, so expect some trail activity in the area. Sandhill cranes are a reported presence. Amenities include vault toilets, a hand pump for water, and campfire rings. Sites are first-come, first-served, and RVs are limited to 20 feet. Managed by the MIDNR Forest Resources Division, this is one of several campgrounds around Cadillac State Forest Area; campers wanting full hookups or more developed facilities can look at Cadillac KOA Holiday as an alternative.
