Anglers and ATV riders will find multiple recreation options at Pine Lake Campground, a Forest Service site operating from mid-May through late September within Manistee National Forest. The campground provides drive-in, walk-in, and boat-in access to sites near the lake, though recent flooding has left some areas waterlogged according to visitor reports.
Basic amenities include a hand pump for drinking water, vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings with firewood available for purchase. ATV and snowmobile trails branch out from the area, while the lake offers fishing opportunities with clear water. Cell service reaches the campground. The site works best for campers with boats who can take full advantage of the lake access and those planning to explore the surrounding trail network.
Description
Pine Lake Campground is located on the shores of beautiful Pine Lake. The east side of the lake is mostly privately owned and has many cabins. The west side is federally owned and is swampy and has been occupied by bald eagles over the years. The beach off the picnic area is shallow for a long distance out and gravel bottomed, and is good for swimming.
