Tucked into the wooded terrain of camping near Manistee National Forest, Sand Lake Recreation Area runs from early May through mid-September and accommodates RVs up to 50 feet, though site length varies, so longer rigs should choose carefully. Sites are wooded and well-spaced, with tree views toward the lake. A first-come, first-served loop supplements the reservable sites. Sites 16 and 19 have direct trail access to the beach, where fishing is also an option. Hot showers, clean restrooms, and on-site firewood round out the amenities.
