Duck Lake Campsites on Grand Island

This US Forest Service campground provides basic camping at $8 per night on Grand Island within Hiawatha National Forest. Campers can access Duck Lake Campsites by driving, hiking, or walking in, with sites positioned along a beach area that offers sunset viewing opportunities. The forested location near both Duck Lake and a creek includes bear boxes for food storage, essential given the wildlife presence in the area.

Blueberry picking becomes available during seasonal fruiting periods. Clear nights provide stargazing conditions away from light pollution. For additional camping options in the region, consider campgrounds near Hiawatha National Forest. Campers should bring their own water and prepare for primitive conditions with limited facilities beyond the bear-safe food storage.

Very picturesque!

Spent the night here during a camping trip in August 2010. Right along a beach and very relaxing! Beautiful sunset opportunities and on a clear night you can see plenty of stars. Bear box and pole to keep food safe and a lot of blueberries around when in season!
