Nice Spot, not too crowded

This was a nice campground. Lots of foliage and sites were well spaced. It’s the smaller Maner area of Cunningham Falls right off Route 15. We stayed in a travel trailer with no hookups at our site. Some sites offer electric. There are two water spigots on opposite sides of the loops, but this area has no dump station. For that you need to go to the main site miles away or dump at a travel center. Only knocking it down a star because my wife said the womens room had filthy showers and toilets.

Was able to get 1-2 bars of service on AT&T.

Sweet Little Spot

This was the first site we took kiddos to and it was a fun little trip. The aforementioned Falls were busy and viewing was a bit rough between crowds and a beehive (can’t blame the bees for that though!) The Lower Falls Trail is short but great for younger kids and we saw lots of dogs which was lovely. Next time we’ll plan to check out the lake which looked pretty great.

Clean camp sites

We camped with another couple. We stayed 2 days. We tented. The site had a clean bath house. If you like farther away from stores and restaurants (but not two far). This is a nice option. It is about 2 hours from DC. The firewood they sell is very good.

So many bugs and bathrooms far

Even though this seems like it’s in the trees there was actually no shade! Literally hundreds of gnats outside my tent and it was April! Can’t imagine how bad it is in the summer. The only bathroom was not very centrally located so used my portable toilet. The trail to the falls itself is a ten minute drive from this site but I stayed in Manor Area because that’s where they allow dogs. It was I think 12 a night but should have been free. Good phone signal though. Did not like having my tent on a asphalt pad.

Nice ground, highway noise, enjoy foraging for firewood

We naively followed the direction against bringing our own firewood. Opened the firewood compartment on arrival to find it totally empty. So much for the honor system. Check-in’s less than 2 hours before sunset… enjoy wandering the woods in pitch black and hauling logs across the campground.

Once fire was going, we could appreciate the site’s natural setting albeit near the highway. Site was very clean when we arrived even the firepit.
