Boat-in access only puts this free State Park campsite at the far west end of Attean Pond out of reach for most casual campers. Wind can make landing difficult or impossible, so checking forecasts before departure is a practical necessity, not optional. The site has a large beach, a couple of picnic tables, and a fire ring; fire permits must be obtained in Jackman before arrival. The adjacent portage trail connects to Holeb Pond, making this a common first-night stop on the Moose River Bow Loop. Past visitors have noted heavy use and trash left in the fire ring. Attean Falls is another option along the same water system for paddlers who find this site occupied.
